    Re: Where’s everybody gone?

Seconded, I can’t say that I like the new site. Sorry but since the change I don’t use it much now. I don’t find it that easy on the eyeballs.

Im all for progression if its a benefit but tbh im struggling with this layout. The old version wasn’t swish looking granted but was so much easier on the eyes and everything was easy to find. Maybe its my age and eyes thats the problem? i dunno but is there a way for 2 versions, old and new ?

I’ll stick a mains tester across the terminals and not fuff about seeing if there’s continuity between the mains lead!

Exactly as a contunity test proves only one thing !

Illegal, Someone is being a bit to far fetched with their H & S. Its not illegal but competance as Martin mentions is the key. How would you know if say a relay is being energised by the board or the element is getting pwoer to it without a live test ? Its a nonsense of some H & S managers to cover the legals ( ie their postion of being sued maybe and even then i think it wouldnt hold water). Who doesnt ever do a live test at some point is the question to be asked i think

Have you tried running it for 30 mins or more, 20 mins or less is the cool down period so you wont get any power to the dryer element. The toc is the one nearest the back on the left of the heater box looking at it from the fornt. it will have a button between the connections. Try it for 30 mins first !

if the condensor was blocked likely hood is the toc popped, reset it.

errr and turn the power off first.

    10mins, try 30

    Re: Europart

qualtex hv a gd ethos towards their customers but as has been mentioned their range is limited or maybe i just work with faults/appliances the majority of their product range doesnt cater for.

I would love to be able to get all my spares from them rather than connect !!

But i compared a pcb for an aeg d/w between connect and qualtex (qualtex being cheaper) but i noticed they now have a disclaimer on pcb’s that they have no warranty because the manufacturer doesnt know the competance of the engineer fitting it !!!!!!!

Re: Flue Analysers – Gas Safe

i thought the rules were that if the manufacturer specifies that a co test has to be perofrmed in the commisioning then there is a legal requirment to do so and by 2012 it will be enforced as per having to have cpa1

most if not all modern boilers the manufacturers specify this now any way and provide the necessary data to adjust them accordingly.

havent seen a cooker manufacture specify it as yet.

the sprint v2 is about £550 with a printer.
