Re: Hotpoint WD420 one shot failures

Yes i’ve never had a failure on one i’ve done had a couple on machines that already had the the latest fitted on production but thats been caused by a loose fan on the dryer motor causing it to jam, all in all it’s doesnt give much prob’s at all.

The reason the one shot screws in from the inside is so force you have to split heater box and check for fluff build up, you are correct Iamdom they have changed the heater done away with filter removed the valve also the one shot has changed to a higher rating i usualy just convert the whole lot with the 1605230 heat box all the changes in one go.

    Re: Hotpoint FFA90 frozen fan

The thermistors are non replaceable if one goes faulty the module will, compensate using the others and also memory of past running and defrost failing that it will revert to a preset factory default to attain temp, there was however a change in module software to allow a longer defrost and foam seal around the fan material was changed to prevent freezing another change was on the back panel to stop water ingress into foam behind foil on back panel causing excessive ice build

On programe a 95’c wash it is a hot fill if the incoming water is above 55’c it does’nt heat the water until the heat step after programe E upon which it will heat up to 95’c, saying that if there is a broken thermistor wire it will advance through heat steps likewise if the heater is open circuit and there is no rise in temperature detected the heat step is aborted hope this helps.

Thats the reason they are on a recruitment drive at the moment, they have changed there contracts to a maintainece contract and so have to visit every one, and do a loop impedance test insulation and earth continuity on each appliance and supply to the appliance not sure if it’s once a year or every second year.

Re: Late model Hotpoint/Creda condensor dryers.

There is a small rectangular hole at the back of the condensor chamber access is easier by popping the side panel off it can get blocked by fluff causes moisture to get drawn into the heater chamber, mostly though cause is the condensor it’s not so visible to see blockages on these models.

Re: Hotpoint WD64S fast blow fuse

It was primarily put there to help cure overloading and tearing problems if something gets caught at the injector and jams the drum the fuse will go before it can damage clothes.
