    Re: Whirlpool’s creating whirlpuddles

Extracare guys and us used cheap scouring pads (foam squares) from Tescos for built in Merloni machines rubbing thruogh on sump hose, glue one to bolt head sorted !!

Also glued 2 to front weight to stop em banging against cases on spin, dulled the noise a bit didnt stop the vibration though !! lol 😉

That was exactly my point to Chris today, once he realised how important the info was regarding sourcing spares from SMEG, Stoves, Beko etc he really then understood our problem.

I’m sure JVF will come up with a solution so we don’t lose the ability to cross reference part numbers.

    Re: MFI Turmoil

On a personal note as many of you know was an MFI Engineer for many years before I left to work for myself 6 years ago, and I have been an Agent for them for the whole time since, I have talked today to a lot of my friends there, some in tears, and totally devastated and dejected about what has happened to MFI.

No matter what I or all of you think of MFI there is a human factor to this, the majority of the staff at Welwyn and Norwich were dedicated and very good at their jobs and tried their utmost over the last couple of months to keep things going as best they could, inevitably their efforts have been squandered and disrespected by a few, money always talks in the end Mr Favell.

Their Engineers are some of the best in the Country and if I had the business to be able to employ all of them I would, I can’t and for that I am sad, I am sure the skills and profesional attitude of my friends there will enable them all to move on and upwards from this total mess.

There is no good time to lose your job, but at this time of year and with the financial climate as it is I wish all the ex MFI staff my best wishes and hope they all find something soon.

Sorry for the rant guys. 🙁

Got paid end of last month, not all of the jobs, had no invoices for spares ordered as yet but to be honest haven’t ordered much using van stock up.

TBH only been getting insurance and cash jobs no warranty work for 2 months.

Their Engineers got paid today, most are only getting 3 to 4 jobs a day, spoke to one today they don’t know whats happening but most are considering other options !!

Re: Servis UK (Antonio Merloni) Bust!?

Spare parts are going to be a major issue, just checked Connect and virtually every model of Servis w/machine is out of stock for modules and motors, D&G will be writing off a lot more Servis machines soon ❗

Count me in Lawrence, the more of us the better, start high at £65 they will try and knock us down, definately 14 days for a minimum of six motnhs or until they can prove to be trusted.

    Re: MFI Kroll

The situation is that it is going to be very unlikely that any of the agents will receive any payments at all for work done before 30th Sept, I am seeing my advisors on Monday and they are very interested in the fact I have 2 batches of invoices that were accepted by MFI for payment on the 14th August, these should have been paid within 30 days of that acceptance note, so there is a possibilty payments were deliberatly witheld until they went into administration, check to see if any of you have had a an acceptance note for payment.

If this can be proven we might have a case for those invoices to be paid, I’m not holding out much hope but its worth a try, my reply letter has been sent to Kroll by registered post informing them that I will not be paying the parts invoices and they contra that off what I am owed, and a copy of all the invoices due has been sent to MFI by courier.

As far as working for them again there is no question MFI will still need this network of agents, where else are they going to go to replace us, but I am the same as Lawrence they need to earn our trust, this is exactly the situation that WTA was set up for, if we all stay together on this we can negotiate our own terms with them, I agree with Lawrence a rate more suitable for the type of work and travelling involved would be around £65 a call, at this moment in time I have them on complete stop they have no computer systems working at the moment and I cannot see any point in negotiating with them until they are up and running their service department fully.

I for one will find it hard to replace 30{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of my work so I am prepared to negotiate a new deal on our terms in time, our loss is going to be extreme to say the least but getting angry wont help, getting even is a much better way.

Sorry about the length of this post.

    Re: MFI Turmoil

I’ve been doing the same all day, just under 12K, they are going to get all the invoices sent back to them as we might find out they have lost them as their system has been changed 😉
I’ve been advised not to pay them anything at the moment from our parts account even if you get a phone call from Kroll demanding a payment.
