ParticipantRe: MFI Turmoil
I spoke to 3 of their Employees today, they are as confused about the situation as us, I did try to speak to someone higher up but he would not accept any calls today, I am awaiting a return call hopefully tomorrow to clarify the situation.
If anyone sent them an email dont be surprised not to get a reply all their computer systems were changed at the weekend and were still down this morning, they were handling all calls manually and had no access to their new computer system.
All I know is that MFI Financial Services were always one of the most profitable parts of the business but I cannot confirm if it is part of the new management buy out Company, I do have friends there but none will go on the record and its not fair to ask that of them, but suffice to say they are not over concerned about the situation, I did advise them that a communication to all agents would be advisable whether that will happen soon or at all I dont know.
regards

Aint that the truth Lawrence, when I worked for them we were the last to know anything, I hope it aint as bad as we think but I’ll be on the case Monday will let you know, I didnt take anything you said as bad against Stuart just letting you know I’ve known him a long time and he’s good lad.

Lawrence, glad you met Jim Frow as he is one of their top Engineers i’ve known him for nearly 15 years and is very dedicated, they have been sending Engineers all over the place to cut costs on Agents if they are quiet in their own areas, they have had computer problems at WGC last week I know that for certain, Stuart is one of my best mates up their and he has never lied to me as far as I know.
This is bad news as MFI have had takeovers etc in the past but this is first time I have ever known them to go into administration.

I’ve spoken to a few of their Engineers and they were assured all was ok even though they knew something up, I have been doing the same as you Alex regards invoices, AIG are a waste of time, Alan is still the Engineer in your area but they have been sending Engineers down here from other areas if they are short on jobs.
I’m going to speak to them on Monday and will let you all know what I can then, hope its not as bad as we think.

Our local Engineer has only just gone back to work after 10 weeks off sick and we have been covering for him, like I said I have a lot of friends at Welwyn also Engineers working for them I have known for over 15 years, even though its bad for me personally I still feel for them, they are good people and the possibility of them losing their jobs is not nice. 🙁

I know what you mean Lawrence, I dont know which Company MFI Financial Services comes under, I will be on the phone to them on Monday.
We have about 10K outstanding and it could cripple us if we lose that amount, the D&G jobs we can re invoice direct to D&G if we have to.
I’ve been out today and done 6 MFI calls and come back to the office to see that letter, great working a Saturday for possibly nothing !! 🙁

I had official letter this morning from Adminstrators, Kroll in Leeds, not looking very good for us as MFI is our biggest contract, I also used to work for them and I have a lot of friends still there, if I hear anymore I will let you know 🙁

ParticipantRe: What would you do?
Personally I always do the same as you, it always looks good to be as helpfull as possible, the customer will definately call you again when there is something he can’t sort out easily, this happens to us with loads of our customers they like honesty above everything and always come back, you may have lost a job this time but you will have that customer again one day.
Cheers

Had a call from our friends at P&G this week and they are putting on a Nationwide workshop going around the Country as they have some ‘Answers’ to Engineers problems regarding their detergent products, has anyone else had a call?
