ParticipantRe: September 2011 UKW engineers meeting
I will be there whatever day as I couldn’t make Feb one, personally I’m not a fan of Coventry Hilton but all Hotels are roughly the same, I would suggest Premier Inn booked far enough in advance the rates are can be cheap and if it’s just Engineers do you need a Conference Room or just a Bar !!

That means at least 4 million of them will covered by manufacturers engineers ie Hotpoint, Bosch, Stoves etc………………

Yes they are Jackal, not since MFI went bust but recently have done some Fisher & Paykel jobs for them under the John Lewis brand with extended warranty

ParticipantRe: A sad tale…
I have passed on all your best wishes to my friend and he appreciated the support, unfortunately he cannot carry on as the stress is too much for him and has decided after 35 years in the trade enough is enough and is taking a cartakers/handyman job local to him.
I’m sad that he has decided to do this but I can understand his decision, he really struggles with the new technology these days and also the whole ethos of working for himself, to carry on would give him severe health problems and I just want him to be back to his old self again, so I’m now looking for another Engineer to help me out in certain areas and will post it on trade vacancies at the weekend, thanks guys for your posts as usual UKW has a great membership and invaluable support 🙂

ParticipantRe: Baumatic appliances
Thanks for the email, good luck in selling Baumatic, personally we use other manufacturers but I did sell some Baumatic appliances when I was a service agent direct for them, mainly extractors, hobs and ovens

ParticipantRe: Van Stock

ParticipantRe: Range cooker health checks
I do the same for Mercury Ranges Nige, about the same price for labour, parts extra, not a bad earner but not many of them around 🙂

ParticipantRe: A long shot!
Hi Swerv, the only chance I have of getting one is if you can let me have the details from the label on the timer itself, I have a few here but no part numbers on the boxes/bags, is it 5 or 6 buttons, Invensys etc would help

Only Servis jobs I get are D&G, nearly always Module and instant BER due to cost, cash customers normally ask for a new machine straight away
