Just had the official email from Repaircare, all Regional Service Managers made redundant.

Seemingly there will be an announcement by Repaircare today about ‘restructuring/changes within Repaircare’ :rolls:
No reply to my email to Mark today, don’t look good, shame if it’s true as I liked Mark and he did his best to help if he could 🙁

Mark is supposed to be having a meeting with me next Wednesday, no one has called to cancel it yet so I will email him to check 😕

Oh please Lawrence spare us from dreaming about an idealistic world such as you describe when all around you can surely see the mayhem and chaos this trade exemplifies.
‘Mayhem & chaos’ :hmm: I hope you can explain that comment, and as far as patronising Lawrence and all the WTA council members I’m not surprised Lawrence has taken offence by your comments, the hard work Lawrence and all the WTA council put in is immense, we all have views on the unwelcome publicity this idiot has caused our trade but the WTA and DASA are at least trying to do something and should be supported for their efforts.
Personally I have mixed feelings, in some ways I would like something like Gas Safe but I can also see the problems that would cause as Ken and Lawrence have pointed out in this thread, there is no easy answer but I have faith that the WTA are at least pushing us in the right direction, together we can all make a difference and hopefully idiots like this will be few and far between in the future

Hi Susan,
I service and repair both Rangemaster and Falcon under warranty here in the UK, the split oven 900 is a new model, the main difference between the 2 versions is the quality in finish and the hobs, are you considering a Gas hob or Induction hob as both hob types are so much more better in the Falcon brand than Rangemaster.
The quality of the finish on the door and facia as well as oven furniture again is much better on the Falcon brand, as far as SMEG is concerned I have worked on their products for many years and is not a patch on Rangemaster or Falcon HTH 😀

ParticipantRe: working on gas cookers info please
You will need CCN1 and CKR1, there are no fast track courses as far as I know, you will have to have a ‘portfolio’ of work before they will even allow you to be ACS assessed, which means you need to be with a qualified Engineer doing the work under supervision for some time before they will even consider you.
Check on the Gas Register website for more information or your local ACS assessment centre.Jonah
ParticipantRe: Zan ZWF16581W washer noise
Just checked on TDS and it’s a welded drum Mike, production started in 2007
Jonah
ParticipantRe: Zan ZWF16581W washer noise
Probably a sealed drum type with something stuck in it that they can’t get out, it’s a fairly new model so I doubt it’s the drum broken or bearings gone Mike IMHO

ParticipantRe: Diplomat ACA9102 Dishwasher repair
Sorry Baldy but this is a Chinese Haier made dishwasher not a Whirlpool, the fact it hasn’t leaked into the base tray or all over the kitchen yet is a miracle, as you have had problems with only one spray arm working in the past I would suggest that the wash pump has failed.
It could be the capacitor that is faulty but knowing the ‘high’ quality of the wash motors on Chinese tat I would recommend you get a qualified Engineer to replace the wash motor/pump at probably a cost in excess of £180, even better pull it out take the decor door off and chuck it in the nearest skip as your money will follow it into that skip sooner or later :lesson:
Don’t forget to unplug it before you do anything on it :zap:

ParticipantRe: Beko DE 2431 FW dishwasher
Did one today for D&G insurance, check the production number of the appliance as there may be a couple of different PCB’s for it, also check the edge connectors as they can not make contact or burn out, I had to replace both the PCB and the wiring loom on the one I had today, HTH 🙂

ParticipantRe: Risk Assesment
Yep Clive been there mate, I have to be CHAS ( Construction Health & Safety Scheme ) registered with an H&S policy, CRB etc and all the other B******t for a lot of the contracts I deal with now, it’s becoming more a normal part of this industry I’m afraid when you deal B2B even though I’m only a one man band :rolls:
