I have been qualified for just over 2 years now and I can tell you I was a nightmare training it took over a year to do the number of jobs is irelivent you need experience on boilers fire and cookers. The hardest part is finding a gas safe engineer to train with I do wonder if it was worth doing sometimes

Three 7mm screws holding the lid on at the back then 2 screws holding the facia on then the door and the door seal needs to come off plus screws around where the door seal, may be 2 screw holding the front panel at the top as well and there are 2 screws holding the front panel on from the bottom one near where you pull out the condenser and one the opposite end 2 wire on the door lock doesn’t matter what way around you put them

this is a gas appliance you must have a gas safe registered engineer to look at it.

    Re: Hotpoint WD420 not starting

I would get rid of it normally either the door lock or the brushes cause this problem which you have checked, the only other thing for you to check is the motor wiring and the door lock wiring if these are fine you could well be looking at a pcb fault, also i can see the dryer worked now and again if there is a fault on the dryer that can cause the wash side not to work properley also. but if every light on the machine flashes this is a pcb fault.

before booking an engineer or buying a new machine it is also worth checking the sump hose which is located at the bottom of the machine and connects to the pump maybe a blockage there

Re: How to reset fault code F-07

hi there is no way of reseting the fault code other than unplugging the machine for a minute or so this is a pcb module fault and will require changing.
