    Re: Random Thought No55

I have done enough recons in my time not to want to do it again, especially the way customers are now.

For the two businesses to work hand in hand advertising each other would be good. I am allways getting asked about cleaning them and it would be nice to work on a clean one.

This is not an easy job, the hob top and control panel need to be removed. Then the new switch may have to have a wiring conversion, not knowing your skills I feel it would be safer for an engineer to do.

    Re: repairs@

I would like to see subscribers getting more from it, we did not join just to get free info etc we joined because we believed in it,and that it was a need to our trade.

Myself on repairs@ have had one enquiry due to the fact on most of my post codes I am not even mentioned and on the ones I am, I am at the bottom of the list, only one other subscribes, and this probably applies to all of us.

I know that a lot of non subscribers do help others, and perhaps thats another way to list the repairs@.

Re: ElbaKenwood CK410 LH Oven Base Element

Not the easiest element to change. Take of back panel off.
Above element 2 self tapping srews remove.
Then go round front go into storage drawer lever panel below oven from the rear down then you get acess to the element which is easy to change.
Difficult part is getting the cover back up and lined with the 2 self tappers.
After you have done one you look forward to the next. Especially if like my last one thick in grease and muck.

Have you tried the programme on a rinse cycle? timers do go faulty but there is quite a few other faults that will give you the same fault.

Re: Zanussi ZX 56/4 W Fridge warm, Freezer OK

This appliance is fitted with a defrost timer and if that or heater goes faulty unit builds up with ice, defrosting for 24 hours would probably not get to the ice in the vent tube to the fridge.

You would have to leave doors open for 48 hours, but if timer etc faulty would be the same in a few days. Sorry time for an engineer.

    Re: Servis Pump question

No it is not a problem but the wires don’t reach properly on some of the models or the plug connector is wrong! so you sometimes need to modify, which is not a problem for an engineer but for a customer might be. Where the correct pump doesn’t cause a problem.

    Re: Blomberg Fridge/Freezer control pcb

It sounds like your PCB . The part number is BNT45X8924 price is £70.49 from Brandt, you may get it cheaper else where but at that money you really need it checked out. Dave Conway may be able to do a better price.

    Re: Servis Pump question

Hi Dave doesn’t this model use the short pump which is at the wrong angle and you could take pump motor off and put on old housing but I think wires or the connections need to be modified.

Re: Kenwood CK480 oven base element

If it is the small left hand oven you remove back panel take out 2 screws above the element, go back round the front and go into drawer and lever panel down from the rear, then you have access, not so easy putting the panel back so enjoy! Part No DEL062096004
