    Re: A thought …

The COP is our priority for Fri & Sat ,we were also going to try and set budgets .
I wonder if two people are prepared to take up the Cudgels and explore MFI Newco , What seems to be obvious is that a lot of non members are being affected ,so there could be Kudos to be had.
What is certain is that MFI will be expecting everything to be “business as usual” from today .
Which means that we need to run fast with this getting everyone to accept a figure and payment terms ,also we need to know those agents that are in and those that are out .
What about a post on the WTA homepage highlighting the MFI-Kroll situation ?
But back to the Fri-Sat ,As much as MFI affects me ,The COP is our long term future and that has to be our priority on Fri-Sat .
On that note has anyone else started looking at the document

Any of you that were working for Quinto weren’t working for SUK you were working for Whitegoods servicing Ltd ,thats who you were invoicing isn’t it ?
Worth a phone call on Monday as they may not have gone anywhere.
If they have gone it would be just my luck as I have only just sent my stock back !

How are we going to respond to all the questions being asked in the rumour mill ,do we want to reply on behalf of the WTA if so shall we use one person all the time.
I assume some of the people posting are not members as they haven’t popped up in the WTA forum but as Sean said if we help it shows we care ?

    Re: Advice to hotpoint customers

I don’t wish to sound conceited but the only sale that I know that I have lost was for a washer dryer which I could have got for the cust but my usual supplier didn’t have any stock.
I sell the Ise on the premise that I reccomend and repair it so therefore I must trust it and people buy into the sustainability aspect as well.
Take the point about the larger capacity machines though
The Ise 2 may be a basic spec machine but it has 2 year guarantee and my price includes installation and disposal of old appliance .

    Re: Advice to hotpoint customers

Maybe I am mssing something here but I have a very simple take on it, if a customer chooses to come to me that is there perogative ,they look in the phone book and choose me ,all the manufacturers and my competitors are in there.
It is the consumers choice where they go .
the only exception is If a customer rings with a noisy WMA we price it but tell them to go to hotpoint,we also take the opportunity to talk about ISE and sustainability.
Which reminds me Tim can I ask why you are selling a Hoover to make £70 and lose a customer ?,when you could be selling ISE and retain the customer and get paid for any work on that machine
I sell the ISE2 @£299 the 5@£499 & the 10 @£899 retaining my customers for my business in the future, and also making more than £70 in the process.
I am just asking a question ,not having a go .

Del wrote:Might It be an idea to dedicate a couple of hours of the November meeting, to invite MFI Newco and affected independent agents to an arbitration session to try and negotiate a way forward.

I agree with the principle, but sadly already we have some that are willing to have a go but others that seem to see it as a lost cause. The other problem is who the hell do we deal with ?Mark Ridlers credibility is shot to bits ,and its proving impossible to get any sense out of them in Welyn .

Del wrote: Whether or not this would be successful is any ones guess but it would at least show that the WTA is ready able and willing to support fellow trade members in these troubled times whether they are members of the WTA yet or not. .

I wonder if there needs to be a post in the general forum along the lines of “Calling all MFI agents “ telling them of our plans and then see what response we get ,Also we need someone to speak to D&G on the WTA’S behalf –Ian ?you get on well with them and also AIG but how we do that is anyone’s guess

Del wrote: If we managed to pull a reasonably viable rabbit out of the hat on this, then the kudos for the WTA would be tremendous and the single biggest recruitment campaign imaginable.
Even if we did not succeed in finding a mutually agreeable plan. at least we would have demonstrated that we at least tried, which is far more than others will do. .

    Absolutely!

This has to be one of the biggest weekends in the history of white goods ,which has coincided with Debs going away for the weekend and me ending up with one sick daughter and one very bored daughter so I may have missed a couple of things

Thats a thought that crossed my mind .I am trying to see if the D&G work can come direct to the agents ,I imagine AIG would want call handling etc .
