ParticipantRe: MFI Kroll
A question …
Do members want the WTA to represent them to MFI Newco as one entity ,
Stating new rates ,terms etc
If the answer is yes then we need to know who wants to be represented ,if you know someone who hasn’t posted and should be asked the question please point them in the direction of this thread .
Also what rate do people regard as fair ,bear in mind that this is a whole new ball game ,a new company that we are doing work for who have only 40 engineers covering the whole of the uk -they need us .opinions, viewpoints please

There are two others that I know of ,did you notice that they want to carry on under the existing terms etc ,now correct me if I am wrong but wasn’t our SLA with the previous company that are now in liquidation .
They talk about the new company well then that means that it is a whole new playing field as well as far as I am concerned .
The only way I will work for them is £65 labour and 14 day payment terms ….if at all ,the bottom line is I just don’t trust them.
apparently Mark Ridler is phoning round trying to smooth ruffled feathers ,with no success I hasten to add.Lawrence

What is critical is that we all move together on this ,I agree with Whirl 7 what is to stop them operating for 6 months then doing the same again .

Had a call ,apparently they will pay anything from 1st Oct anything before went with the old company .
Apparently they want to continue working with the network though….
Did any of you ANS boys get paid ?

Hi Tracey
You have mailLawrence
ParticipantRe: Repair Care
Have you considered supplementing your cash work with warranty, insurance and manufacturer work.
I do a mix of them all and it seems to work .
Even if you went on board with them as a second tier agent and built up from there
just a thoughtLawrence

One of my customers works at a bank behind the counter and was telling me about an old chap that came in to withdraw £2000.00 from one of her colleagues apparently he was very confused and a little upset as he didn’t want to offend the two men waiting outside for him who had just repaired his loose chimney !
She asked him if he had agreed the work ,he replied no at which the bank staff suggested he come the other side of the screens and had a cup of tea while they called the police .
The bank worker got a police commendation for her quick thinking ,and the two men were prosecuted .just goes to show they are everywhere .

😕 Thats interesting as I was told they would “know” more by Friday after the accruals were sorted.Yet ANS have obviously been told something else .

Just been talking to Stuart Parnham one of the receiver’s ,All he could tell me was that they are continuing to trade under a new managemant structure and company and are taking orders as before ,but he couldn’d get his head around me being a repairer so a “colleague” wil ring me

Just been looking at the bottom of the job sheet e-mails ,they are from MFI retail services Ltd -who are now in administration -can only assume that extracare come under there umbrella which is why we have each had letters from Kroll .
our exposure is £3.5K .

p.s Interesting A.Clarke got van stock when I have been badgering them for months 👿 .Lawrence

Sorry wasn’t inferring anything with regard to Stuart ,I get on well with him .
Had the pleasure of sitting next to Jim over lunch – very nice man ,I get the impression they are just as much in the dark as the rest of us

I agree with Ian if you can get the time of to come that would be great, although there is the obvious distinction between employed and self employed we are all engineers at the end of the day .

p.s Just be careful your boss isn’t there as Ian has managed to get most of the industry to attend 😆Lawrence
ParticipantRe: MFI Turmoil
At Sibson Jim Frew said that they were sending there engineers to where the work was rather than set areas,I spoke to Stuart in admin on Thurs and he mentioned a system failure on the computer , which now makes me rather suspicous although I did get a BER out of a senior engineer .
I can only assume that they are all being told all will be okay when the dust settles .
We are going to speak to them on monday advising everything on hold ,outstanding and booked jobs we will do for the customer as long as they pay ,I will also try and contact the administrators direct as well as Lindsey at D&G to see if the work can come direct .
