    Re: national service

if it’s Necht product then withdraw me from your e-mails ,I did work for a company that carried out national service on these products ,the first fix rate was zero in fact the second fix rate was zero due to the product being of a low quality ,technical support was non existent and if I recall correctly they stopped doing work due to non payment you have been warned ….

    Re: Out of my area.

I had someone call yesterday who is about 15 miles outside our area asking if we would sell him an ISE10 we said yes and will tie it in with work that way to deliver it .
The beauty of the 10 is you can sell it and walk away .

    Re: Membership.

Ian can speak for himself ,but my understanding of this is that at least one manufacturer on the back of the meeting has expressed an interest in joining us .
Now do we say not at the moment as we have nothing to offer you as yet (which we don’t) but we will contact you later.
Or do we welcome them but on a provisional membership as a gesture of goodwill ,I said publicly at the meeting that we are still building for the future and that there are things in the pipeline .
I have always said that no manufacturer will have any kind of voting rights neither will there engineers ,our whole ethos is based around the small independent repairer .
However if someone comes knocking could it be construed as churlish to turn them away

    Re: Membership.

the only people that can vote are the independents who pay there fee every year ,the manufacturers will only ever have an associate membership that will have no voting rights.
I don’t have a problem with an introductory term but more 6 months I think.
The other thing is we need to give them some value for there investment .

    Re: Beko Reacts!

I wonder if a converstaion ensued something like ” you can call me all the names under the sun ,but if you need a reference from me to go somewhere else then rescind all that you have said ” hence the cryptic comments in the post regarding management techniques .
If it was an attempt to besmirch anyone then it wasn’t just one person involved .
There is an awful lot of CYA going on I think

    Re: CANDY DISHWASHER NOT HEATING

be warned I have had two of these and they both had similar faults ,fill no heat .
I advised both customers to go to Candy as I had no info and I sensed they were going to be trouble both customers thanked me for my honesty and as I don’t offer the earth , I was prepared to accept my limitations one lady phoned back to say that Candy had called 8 times to no avail until the last engineer out of desperation changed practically everything on the machine and it worked on leaving she asked him waht it was -his reply “I dunno but its working “

he can retract all he wants the reality is that what is supposed to have happened is in the public domain (or trade domain anyway).
I wonder if something else is being played out here?

    Re: Feb Meeting

well ,I think that Ian & Bryan deserve a pat on the back for there organising of the day,and Ken for the presentaion on Bob,Anne&Jack.
One positive that has already come from it is that Brian Cresswell from masterpart wants to speak to me about giving WTA members an extra discount when they order parts 😀 .
What I propose is that masterpart mail out to all the WTA members with some sort of flyer explaining how it will work.
