    Re: 3 uf Capacitor

UN1112 at Masterpart. 3.5uf £1.39. I’ve used 7uf in place of 5uf in similar situation and not had a call back. I think you can go higher but lower won’t work. The volts sounds high but I think it’s just a peak rating.

    Re: Zanussi Welded Tub

There was discussion of this years ago before the welded tubs were around. Things have always been getting stuck like that in Zanussi drums. I had some success with a bit of wire – the green coated stuff would be good. The best way I remember from the discussion might be using a bit of p/sw hose fed into gap, turning drum 180 degrees and waiting for object to fall out.

Re: Beko WM6152W. Was blocked. Now stuck on spin w. prewash

Hi Tim, I tried the procedure outlined in codes book for WMA1715s but couldn’t get any joy. Different buttons on this anyway. Also having power off for 15 mins while I took module out, examined and put back – you would have thought it might have reset itself by then.
I’ve done a bit more searching and am going to go back with a p/sw (£4.50) and a print out of a reset procedure from here. I’ll also take a close look at motor plug as it’s been implicated in a lot of faults.
    Hope those eggs weren’t overcooked 😀 .

More about this. She’s found something black, plastic & toothed in the filter. Could it be “481953088025 washer, toothed” (= “toothed ring AZ5”) and if so, where does it fit? Thanks for reading.

If you tap dw928 into Masterpart’s model search it comes up with Whirlpool dishwasher parts.

Any ideas about this one, please?

Re: Philips Slimstar 850 T12? bearing kit available?

OK, she’s found it. For the record it’s AWG090PH/01. Standard 6204 plus a V25 v-ring should do it if I’m careful and the damage hasn’t gone too far. 😉

in reply to: Bosch WAA24160GB/01 what size bearings do I need? #292320

Re: Bosch WAA24160GB/01 what size bearings do I need?

Not too bad a job. Bearings were 6305 and 6204. Drum was held together by about 20 lugs on the front section and 9 screws which were screwed in from the rear. I managed to get the drum apart without breaking the lugs by inserting thin stainless steel kitchen knives to hold the lugs in and levering in the gap with tyre levers. There were spare screw holes and Zanussi drum screws fitted fine in them. (I had only one with me having been misled by the picture on Connect.) The dampers are held in by pins integral with the front half so you have to unscrew them at the cabinet joints. Everything else is pretty straightforward, much like a Zan split tub. The pulley is held on by a countersunk torx bolt and is a tight friction fit. There is an O ring btween it and the back bearing. One soap dispenser screw lost its head when I screwed it back in so watch the torque on those.
Strangely enough the old large bearing was stamped “NSK ENGLAND” .
I didn’t know we still made anything here!

As it sets in after first drain phase it might be syphoning?

Does that have something to do with 264574?

in reply to: Plastic Washing Machine Motor? #292219

    Re: Plastic Washing Machine Motor?

It would be interesting to see how well the plastic lasts as it’s being heated and cooled each time a wash is done. Don’t suppose they’re worried about that though because the electronic failure will send it to landfill long before the plastic cracks up.

Shaft seal has arrived and is 29x62x10/11 approx with three lips. I’m taking along 6305 and 6206, should cover me for the front. Hope the back won’t be anything strange. Will update for the record when job done.

Re: Servis M301W allegedly “groaning”. V belt?

Hi Rob, Actually I lived in Shaftesbury for a couple of years in the early nineties. During my last six months there I did a one day a week NVQ course in (agricultural) estate management at Kingston Maurward to relieve the boredom of not having much work. Good course for getting a taster of a wide range of building maintenance and tractor driving skills. Used to do nature conservation work with a group called the Dorset Countryside Volunteers at weekends. Friendly crowd, still going strong.
Think I must have driven past a sign sometimes saying Piddletrenthide, but that’s all I remember. Used to quite enjoy driving round the country lanes of Dorset between jobs.
Are you born n’ bred thar?

Re: Servis M301W allegedly “groaning”. V belt?

Ah that must be the famous Piddletrenthide (sp?) by the river Piddle?
As for the pump it was the red and yellow plastic bayonet job as indicated by Lawrence. Had to really pull hard to get that rotor out.
Always like to have a look at the bits I take out – it’s educational and it often confirms the diagnosis where there’s any doubt.
    Cheers again,
    Mike.
