Bra wires which are causing noise can often be persuaded to appear through an inner drum drain hole simply by turning the drum gently a few inches in each direction. Once an end is seen sticking out grab it with pliers and gently coax it out.

    Re: HHmmmmmmm Bendix filter anyone??

Well that ol’ thing can’t go on much longer. Nothing to lose in sealing it up and clamping it shut with a repair plate screwed in place across the opening. Unless the ol’ dear’s got a very smart kitchen. Plus you get a call out every time the filter needs emptying. 😆

in reply to: Door seal lip repair? #287704

    Re: Door seal lip repair?

I’ve often used bike patches to repair holes until a new seal arrives. I use the normal rubber solution and sew them in place. Never thought of trying superglue. I’ll give it a try next time. I thought the seal lip would be difficult to get right.
I got a new seal for the nursing home Miele and brought the old one home to try and repair. (Several weeks ago and haven’t taken it out of the bag yet. 😳 )

Both at Masterpart. Check it out first, as I only took a brief look. They look a bit expensive.

I’ve had a look on Mediator on Connect and can’t see what you’re refering to. They do have exploded diagrams on there and a list with OEM part no.s.

Those Candy switchbanks certainly gave problems. I see the delay thing is available seperately on Connect for under a tenner. 5031681484891. Otherwise there’s not much left for this model. Did you poke around with a megger?

On the older ones with the ewm1000 pcb, E36 was “sensing circuit p.sw. anti-boil”. Does that give any clue?

    Re: Indesit WIDL126 Washer dryer

Sounds like it might be a lack of a condensing water flow. Have you checked valve and flow from it? Don’t know if o/c dryer valve would give an error code, possibly not.

in reply to: Philips Slimstar 850 T12? bearing kit available? #292653

Re: Philips Slimstar 850 T12? bearing kit available?

Just for the record. It was the bearing on the non-driven side that had gone. Unfortunately it had gone far enough that the drum had been rubbing on the plastic tub. This had become distorted by the heat so a new bearing would not have been possible to mount squarely. In case I or anyone else should one day be confronted by a similar machine, the inner drum is best released from the non-driven side by getting a hand down inside the cabinet and undoing a torx/allen bolt (t25 or thereabouts) in the centre of the shaft. Non-driven side bearing and housing should pull out once clip is released, emphasis on should. Pulley is held on by a stubborn countersunk allen bolt.
