ParticipantRe: HVR P55 tacho magnet 91212357 “obsolete”?
That’s great news, thanks Andy.
I assumed “NLA” under “status” meant no longer available.
But when I searched for it by browsing I was able to get to it.

ParticipantRe: Beko tacho magnet
Thanks, Martin.
I’d like to see what’s under that plastic cover. The rear end of “your” motor looks 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} the same as “mine”. Only difference is in the area where it locates to the plastic drum. End frame mouldings, tacho/cover/wiring all look identical.
Is the motor made by Arcelik? As for access that wasn’t any problem on the Beko either.
Anybody got any ideas how I could fix this motor – hate throwing good stuff into the metal recycling bin.

Is this the square computer board with “slave” timer?
If so the timer will probably be about £15 and may be worth keeping in stock as they can cause all sorts of probs.
Certainly worth ringing EMW and asking advice. They will test board for about a fiver. (0115) 9652118.

ParticipantRe: Soap Powders & Technology Training
Many thanks to George for the presentation in Truro yesterday afternoon.
Very useful information which will definitely improve my confidence in dealing with customer queries.
This training should also save me time which I would otherwise have spent investigating “faults” which were in fact due entirely to customers’ mis-use of detergents, programme selections and load sorting and size.
The booklet detailing all the info. covered in the presentation and extra very useful stuff on care labels and stains, colour and fabric damage causes and prevention is brilliant.
Would recommend this training to all in the trade. It is certainly much needed.
Thanks UKW also for the smart clothing and detergent freebies.

iadom wrote:I’m still waiting for a certain someone 😉 to suggest drilling a large hole in the drum, poking a hose in to syphon then, filling the hole with plastic putty. 😆
Not a bad idea really. I’d suggest some debor and a rubber grommet to seal afterwards as when the putty hardens it can shake loose from the hole. 😀

ParticipantRe: Diplomat M8502 washing machine
Went to a Baumatic BTWM3 today with similar fault. Looked like a Servis to me. It had a DMPA 10 H7 module, a big induction motor and a 22uf cap. Changed capacitor and all was well again.

At least you’ve got the front filter opening on Z’s.BTW, How many times have Hotpoint owners asked “Is there some sort of filter I can get to on this thing, my old Z,C,I etc used to have….blah blah…”?
I tell them that Hotpoint have survived for decades without front fitting filters and many Z owners never need to open theirs either. Wonder if I’m giving out the right spiel?

ParticipantRe: How do you drain off a flooded WMA?
Martin,
This may be nit picking but I thought you said there wasn’t room to tip m/c onto its side. If so, where would you have found room to tip it on its back?
I think Iadom should go to work today and stop gloating. 😆

ParticipantRe: How do you drain off a flooded WMA?
Can’t carry a Vax round with me.
Theoretically (although I’ve had 30 mins to think about it so you’d have been on your way to next job by now):
If there was room to get behind m/c I’d take the drain hose off (risky, but you could be ready to quickly push it back on if it suddenly started to flow),
and poke something in through there to partly clear the blockage. Then quickly put drain hose back and switch to pump out. Maybe unplug motor 1st. Would that work?
Mike.

Yep, and they are a real pain to get at through the small WMA type back panel,I had occasion to tip an Indy over onto its side recently and found the module easier to get at from the bottom. Will be trying it on the next Merloni I come across.

Phidom wrote:How many times have you heard: “I don’t like this new machine, it takes 1 1/2 hours to do a wash!” ?
Even in my “micro-business” I hear this 3 or 4 times a week.

Phidom wrote: IMHO the old machines that used more water got the clothes cleaner.
If this is the perception of a majority of users then all the energy saving benefits of low water levels will have been negated by the consequent increase in the number of washes. Reckon this is quite likely.

5031682119747 on connections is listed for this model. Looks like a single level job with clearly visible adjusting screws.
