Words are easy, actions speak far greater.
You cannot slag of 0800 its against there rules, as is not wearing the baseball cap and silly looking van or having your own approach with your business.
I personnally own my business, I would never ever sell it out to an outfit such as 0800.
You see you have no business, your really an 0800 representative and you’ve paid them the privilage. 😆
No I prefer not too. 😉

ParticipantRe: Bosch Exxcel SGS43A18GB/42.
The module stores the last wash programme time and within 10 minutes will adjust time to the load and the setting.
The time can change up or down through the programme and is not an actual time function only an estimated time when finished.
By which I mean if the display states 60 minutes and you time 60 minutes the appliance could still be running after 60 minutes and have say 5 minutes left and those 5 minutes could take 8 minutes before it finishes.
Its not a true timer function.
In the same way a quick wash could show the time the last wash took, it should change throughout the wash programme. If it does not and the quick wash takes 3 hrs, then you have an issue.
Hope that makes sense.

Take out there 0800 Repair franchise, aparantly there giving excellent service.
My thoughts on it are they want the contracts done by there guys who take on the franchise.
What will likely happen is they won’t get enough people to become franchise and either loose the contracts or more likely sell 0800 repair to some other group at a huge profit (Centrica likely, there dumb enough) and then revert back to running external contractors.
Just glad I don’t have a franchise. 😆

ParticipantRe: Bad Payers
I had to walk out of a call for Electrolux that was leaking.
I stepped into the kitchen to a large puddle of water around the base of there w/m.
I asked have you used it this AM, no was the reply, we havent used it for 2 days.
So I asked why didn’t you mop up the water, they replied we have 5 times today and it keeps coming.
So I check the appliance, no water in it, I ask if they notice any water in the drum over night etc, no was the reply.
So I’m thinking maybe leaking tap or pipe connection.
Nope all tight, dry and new.
So I politely expalined it is not the appliance, to which they reply that I haven’t checked it properly.
So I explain that I’m oly responsible for the appliance and since they havent used it but are still mopping up water then it is obviously not the appliance at fault.
Too which they kicked off, stated they had a plumber look and he blamed the appliance.
I noticed drips along the pipes running along behind the wall and as I got them too look asked if the plumber could explain why there is water dripping off the pipes, they replied the boiler has a small leak.
I said well maybe the small leak just got bigger, they explained it hadn’t.
So I said OK I’ll do my report and goodbye, they asked what I would say as they required an uplift number which I had to provide before I left.
I was not so polite but firm and explained my report would state what I found, that the water is present when appliance is not being used and hasn’t been used for at least 24hrs.
Then they argued or rather we still trying to argue as I shut the front door behind me.

ParticipantRe: A FAIR RUN
I’m not as busy, getting more price enquiries, even had a hoover tumble dry belt broken quoted £45 supplied and fitted, customer responded it was too expensive and she’d buy a new one instead. :rolls:
I gave around 8 quotes all under £50 last week and they never returned to me for repair, so either some cowboy is in the area or people are buy replacements.
Competitors are starting to lower their prices, a few have come down too my callout charge and they seem to have increased there advertising presence.

If it isn’t a wet wall it’ll be a blocked drain, Fan motor or defrost failure on either the mod, timer or heater circuit.

ParticipantRe: 0800 Repair
I’ve had a business suffer due to JTM either by themn being incompetent or more likely making their contractors look bad whilst promoting there own new enterprise.
I’m all for business developing and moving forward and I understand that in major companies they will screw over people.
But I’m not in big business and neither is JTM, so using big boy tactics against smaller outfits leaves a sour taste in my throat.
I would comment further but I fear mentioning fire and body fluids would probably get me banned, so I won’t.
Good luck in your new partnership, I hope you don’t regret loosing your investment.
