Racist bigot. Thank god not everybody shares your misguided interpretation of a nations abilities verses demand for cheap products. That same attitude is found in people with the stereo typical view of British manufactured products, although memories have been lost in history, mixed with sentiment and a huge dose of arrogance. I guess some people missed out on history lessons thanks to Hitler interrupting the school day.

Look at the drum via either head underneath or take lid off. The seem in the middle will be screwed or sealed like a plastic weld.

Get instructions on installation you may not have the correct ventilation or its been changed or client has unintentionally blocked it.

It’s what us old school engineers do, we find solutions to problems and then cure them.

If the motor does increase/decrease the fault is in the installation. If not you may find a poor solder joint on the switch.

Remove the four screw holding the motor in place and running it with no restrictions you should hear the motor speed increase/decrease. The switch just send power to the 3 windings within the motor, it’s not an expensive part.

The sensor is available as a spare maybe they assumed engineers did not need to be instructed as it’s a solution already done on other makes and therefore not to complicated. As for air leaks not an issue as you cut through the rear insulation, the inner plastic wall is not touched. When internal fridge drain tubes become iced up the rear insulation is cut out to allow an external pipe to attach to the drip channel pipe changing it to an external drain . Never had issues after when done correctly.

When you state standard weight have you checked the weight of the doors to the max weight the unit can hold. If not tension may be too tight or its just a crap product, I’d suggest it’s both.

    Is it new?

It could be the installation as the motors are not very strong and back pressure will prevent increase in speed.

    If it’s not new.

Pcb likely fault, it was a regular fault, or see above as vent could be blocked.

Only if within a few minutes a smell of gas is detected. The customer then simply isolates until rectified. It likely they’ll blame you, but they would have to prove it and honestly how expensive would the damage be. The risk compared to gain is miniscule.
The penalties to Gas Safe registered people making mistakes is a joke, unqualified is almost non existent unless serious injury occurs. A gas safe engineer identified a gas leak on a range cooker, informed the customer to keep the kitchen window open until the leak is repaired, that took a week, he got fine a few hundred quid, registration voided until resitted ccn1.

    Re: Duel fuel cooker repairs

If the last engineer simply replaced a fan oven element how on earth is it gonna cause an at risk or immediately dangerous situation on the gas. Most gas pipe fitted in the correct location will not require disconnection, simply removing back panel and element a monkey could do with several minutes training. I’ve worked on many dual fuel appliances and never caused an issue requiring repair to the gas side. Even when you replace gas components it’s only a few nuts to tighten, spray with leak spray and pressure test, it’s not rocket science, witchcraft or magic. If the training only included cookers on retake and not ccn1, bloody flues and ventilation requirements on products most white goods Eng wouldn’t spot in real life the course would cover all areas within an hour, but then they cannot justify the course fees, so they include balanced flues, compartments etc etc.

I’d suggest suck it n see as well, everyone deserves a second chance in life. If the product is unsatisfactory recourse can be found through the courts, consumer complaints programmes and Web forums such as this. It’s especially useful when a previously condemned businessman has a history returns and then repeats that history.
