    Re: CURRYS KNOW HOW

The fat cats are not interested in making money from Fixed cost repairs 😉

They are using it to manipulate the public.

You advertise your sales price and you advertise a repair cost, client then able to make a judgement, goes and buys a new product.

    Job done.

I’m assuming the client was responsible for the fitting, dimensions etc and therefore asked you to supply the make and model she requested, if so, its her responsibility to get them right or make good her mistake.

Had you visited the installation, measured and recommend an appliance to fit and it didn’t, then its your responsible.

If the first scenario applies, politely point out she’s an idiot and should have asked for help, your not responsible for her lack of intellect, you’ll happily supply her a replacement product, but she’ll need to buy at a slightly reduced cost, but you’ll need to charge a fee for assessing the install and getting the right product and for removing the other product, she can get rid of that herself.

Its another form of cold call selling, if they approach you its likely in there interest not yours. Since the crisis it seems this new con is becoming more popular, businesses struggle, especially new ones and there praying on peoples naivety or desperation.

Better to walk away or at least until there more established and there history can be checked.

Oooucch, pass it to insurance, then get a board from Hotpoint, can’t remember the part number for it, if not just go and buy a plastic board, dust sheets are useless, the boards help with movement as well.

You may have hit the nail direct.

I hear this a lot that the suits don’t no what there doing, yet there wearing the suit. :rotfl:

Happens in bollotics, every tom dick and harry has an answer, yet there intellect has them no further in society than middle class at best.

Without the full facts most opinions are at best guess work.

Maybe I’m wrong, maybe this keeps happening because they don’t make any money and like making the same mistake or maybe they are making money and just don’t share it with people who ultimately are the ones who suffer. Maybe the ones at the sharp end should think why they are expendable, remove that from the equation and get a suit. :rolls:

No not heard of them, but from experience if there web is not up and running and there address is not an office there likely to use yours and others money to fund their growth, if your lucky they will remain in business long enough to be viable, most likely though they will either go under or disappear.

Any business requires funding to start, but if the start up has not even the basics in place you have to air on the side of caution as to why there is no business presence when there trading as one.

Beko have asked people to cold call on clients on there list, preliminary results have been poor with most clients either got rid of the appliance or have moved.

    Re: Impatient and ignorant

I believe what you do is move with the demands of the clients, after all technically without them your going to become very bored and hungry.

Invest sometime in your business, during those hours your working and professional, doing the school run does not project a good image.

It is what many business people do, although if you speak to your Bank manager a one man/women outfit is not classed as a business, especially when it comes to the serious financial issues, such as lending, overdrafts etc etc.

Another useless debate made to justify there own existence.

The European union has just ruled that olive oil served for breakfast in many med countries must now come in small sealed packets similar to the sugar with coffee instead of the traditional serving bottles placed on the table.

Most bars etc etc are simply ignoring it and there are to be more debates on the matter concerning waste of materials, costs etc etc.

    Money is King, simple as.

Bureaucratic bull888 just another method of greed in hiding.

To survive you do what ever the market requires you to do, if that means you can survive doin free estimates, fine, if it means doin other work you are competent to do, great…. it also means that if your losing money and cannot move with the market etc etc maybe its worth working in Asda.

The worst mistake though is standing still and hoping things get better, they wont after a recession, crisis, it will never return to how it was.

Its simple economics. In my experience free estimate guys rarely survive beyond a few yrs or change, its very easy being employed, being self employed and successful requires some skill, many lack that skill.

Well, I know what one I’d want to patch me up.

    K.

Someones got confused between watching casualty on TV and the real world. 😉

Wouldn’t a field medic have a qualification. :rolls:

Lets put a more logical argument.

If I had a choice between the middle class/ educated with not a lot of experience that had qualifications or, a hoody with bog all qualification and I’m lying on the floor having a heart attack, who would I want holding the defibrillator. :rotfl:

The term qualification simply means you have done something, deemed competent and passed, it will never 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} weed out the muppets, but it will at least reduce the possibility.

I’d prefer that scenario to the one your promoting, a world of people educated without any recognition or proof.

I don’t believe anybody educated would find any logic in that theory. :rolls:

I’ve pointed this out many times, going back some time, Ken didn’t seem to grasp my point. Now he’s had time to reflect or rather has had a lot of rejected claims recently.

In one respect I’d love to see people become qualified to an Engineer level, have an industry recognized qualification and become paid for that knowledge, on the other hand, the one that pays my bills, I’m quiet happy there are a lot of numpties out there who struggle to even remove the lid.
