This is what i found on this , hope it helps

    A) DESCRIPTION OF THE TROUBLE:
We were recently informed about some seldom happenings of the trouble as quoted in subject, mainly
on Washing Machines and Washer-Dryers equipped with Electronic Power Modules of the “Cuore” type,
both by the MDL and INVENSYS makers.
In normal operational conditions, the ERROR 3 is displayed whenever the Phase of Drain is taking a
longer time than the maximum allowed 4′ and 30″. The most frequent reasons for the displaying of the
ERROR 3 are the clogged Filter of the Drain Pump, the bent and/or clogged Drain Hose, an obstruction
in the wall drainage system and of course a defective Drain Pump. On the contrary, in the here
mentioned cases the ERROR 3 was randomly displayed by Appliances whose drain circuit was in perfect
conditions and whose Drain Phases were carried out within the designed limit of time. Nevertheless,
the ERROR 3 was displayed and when this happened, the currently running Washing Cycle was halted.

    B) REASONS AND SOLUTION OF THE TROUBLE:
After a careful examination, we realized that the common factor to all
Appliances showing the trouble as in subject, was a slight current leak
on the grounding of the Water Heating Element, this sending a
misleading signal to the “Cuore” Power Module.
Therefore should you happen to face a trouble like the above
described, we suggest to disconnect, insulate end safely fix far
from the moving parts, the two connectors of the Water Heating
Element (indicated in the picture). Next, carry out a whatever short
Washing Cycle with a Phase of Heating.
In case of INVENSYS Power Module, the ERROR 14 (Missing Water
Heating: defective NTC Probe and/or Water Heating Element and/or
Wiring) could be displayed. Contrary to what happens with the ERROR
3, ERROR 14 doesn’t halt the currently carried out Washing Cycle.
Should the Washing Cycle be correctly brought to the end, without any
ERROR 3 being displayed and being all the Drain Phases correctly
performed, then please replace the Water Heating Element with
another one of the same type and supplied by GIAS as spare part.
    Best regards.
