Participantstrange one
It’s the standby function. They introduced a standby function 2010/11 to meet new Eu regulations. When the machine is left unused it enters deep standby and you can’t turn it back on. Only way to wake it up is cycle mains power.
It’s one of 3 things causing it, either the wrong board as some machines have 2 versions depending on the age, both will work but one has standby and one does not
t has the wrong EPROM file uploaded again same as board two available and finally but I don’t think this affected the aqualtis it needs a new module to display card cable fitted. Pre standby boards had a 4 wire harness but the new standby ones have a 5th wire for that function ,
Post the commercial code and serial number and I’ll find out which one it is giving you the problem.
If I was a betting man it’s the wrong board

As K said not the machine, you want to get that spark back and do a proper investigation. Hope he did not charge you ?
Look at what has changed in that time period ? Anything new installed ? Underfloor heating anywhere in the house ? Immersion as has been said ? New electric shower installed ?
Are you working from home now ? Anything in the Garage on ?
Think of all the possibilities, Consider getting an energy monitor and hooking that up.
If your bill has trebled we are talking a substantial amount of consumption.

ParticipantCustomer warranties on repairs
You know it’s funny Iv had 2 this week, one was an Large brand washer that’s known to have had the odd drum let go, machine 3 years old now and she called me out to it with no spin problem, I walked in and she said it’s not spinning it’s going to explode I want a new one, after some discussion and trying to figure out what the hell was going on its turns out her friend had theirs checked by the manufacture last august and she had told her. She then for some reason called me out. I stated I’m not anything to do with them and that any work I do is chargeable as she agreed at the original point of contact. She then goes nuts and told me she wants a new machine or she is going to take me to court, I told her it’s nothing to do with me and she then proceeded to call D&G her insurance provider ranting and raving , i had a ten second chat with them it it’s turned out she did not have insurance and had cancelled it last year as well , in the end I got just gave up left a call out bill and walked off.
Then to add to it I had a call for tomorrow call in on an extractor fan some one had installed and they wanted me to plumb to external venting for free as its under warranty

A washing machine uses normally around 2kw on the heating phase and depending if it’s 3 phase motor or not another 1-1.7kw on spin. A full duration usage of a standard 40 degree wash can be in the region of 2kw per cycle or 30p in money. if your doing multiple loads a day you could easily spend £1.50 a day. You will notice £45 a month on your bill.
It’s almost impossible it’s using more energy than it’s designed to. Short of it boiling every wash it’s very unlikely. Did he give you any figures ?
Most of the guys will agree we tend to take what a sparky says with a pinch of salt. Most just don’t understand appliances. A washer is easily one of the most expensive items to run in the home next to a tumble drier.
Also it’s not a washer drier is it ?

That tacho related normally. Check motor tacho where the wires leave it as its common for them to brake there, if ok as has been said check all wiring back up as these often rub through on the lower weight. Did one today funny enough but was the heater wires.

The dishwasher had been screwed into both left and right wooden side panels from the middle of the dishwasher. 5 screws through top middle of the left hand panel into the adjacent cupboard and 2 screws through the top middle of the right panel into the wooden side panel. This could have only been done before the sink and work top were fitted. What was the fitter thinking…I had something very similar a few years back turned up to a bi dishwasher explained u had to pull it out only for him to reply you can’t I screwed it to the wall with a bracket before putting the work tops on. Unbelievable these people at times.

ParticipantRe: Fridge freezer fishy smell
Ff200 is an older model now well over 3 years since production. If its a frost free check behind the fridge multiflow it possible some one has spilt something and it ls gone down behind.
Few years ago I had a ff with a bad fish smell that would come and go. Several engineers had been and no one could find it.
In the end I removed a small plastic vent it it had at the top of the fridge that had a polystyrene moulding behind it to direct airflow and it was stinking. No way anything could have been spilled up there but it had obviously absorbed something.

Looks like a tacho related fault to me. The motor speed it not regulated. I would check all connections first and the motor wiring for continuity . Check the tacho on the motor and if no joy I’d suspect control board failure

ParticipantRe: Beko thermostat problem
If you had it on its back then it’s goosed, either damaged the condenser on the back or oil most likely made it to the drier and its all choked up. Fridges must be kept vertical in transportation. You can lean them to carry but not lay them down in any way. Over the years it’s been suggested to put them on there side but as a potman I have always been adamant its vertical only.

Could be ice, is this a full frost free with duct do the fridge. If so it could be the circulation fan

ParticipantRe: Beko thermostat problem
If it been on for a few days feel the compressor and see how hot it is, if its so hot you can’t hold your hand on it then odd on its a system issue
