There is an over-heat cut out as well if i assume correctly.
If this is open circuit, replace all thermostats in both areas πUsually just got away with the pair for this fault

Chinese Haier crap, also sold as that good British name “Belling”.
Heater stats go O/C, they are a pair.

My monies on the timer π although the p/sw is the cheapest option. Have you checked the pressure chamber and pipe? while you are at it check the wiring, higher water level, more weight on a poor connection, just a wild guess
