Re: What are the best quality bearings and where do you buy

leavemetogetonwithit wrote:Can anyone tell me why some makes and models have a bleed hole for water to escape, e.g. Hotpoint WM, whilst some don’t e.g. Zanussi split tubs.?
    Mike.

Most seals use water as their lubricant (unlees they are greased). Better to let any water that does get past the seal to escape than damage the bearing.

I think the poised question should be: what are the best quality bearing seals and where do you buy?

Spot on this is where the problems is , the seals. I had no confidence in replacing bearings on some machines because of the seals, Hotpoint ended up changing the drums 4 times on theb WMA series. IMO it is stupid to offer to repair mark 1,2 or 3 drums, even fitting the later drum assy. is a tad risky of a call back under gtee.
Anyway the sealed drum assy which ALL the manufacturers are now starting to fit will cut bearing changes down to zilch. 😥

Snow up here came and went yesterday, 6 inches, I am dying to get out to work but I can’t cos I have “Chichenpox”. Caring customer invited me into the house but convenently forgot to tell me the f**king kid had it, I should send her a bill for my lost income 👿

Probably a supply fault or the suppressor. Remember this is MAINS voltage and is unsafe if you are not competent, call an engineer if you are not

Is the cooling fan working? if I remember right it is controlled by a stat and cuts in when the temp rises, again if I remember right @ 45degs.

First time in ages I have actually enjoyed working on a integrated machine

    Hi Geoff

Have you tried it with a few towels in? When they spin they throw water around the drum.
