Hi Jimbo
Check the thermal fuse on the internal vent, not sure of this model no. but it should have a lower front panel that will unclip (2 spring clips on its top edge, small screw driver should do it)
Thermal fuse should be front center on top of duct, bypass it and see if she starts πThey have used two types that I know of one is round the other rectangular
Connect no.s

roly16 wrote:Actually, I’d phone QER and ask them if they’ve got one of those boards in stock, and if so, would they kindly have a look and tell me the value of the resistor.
You can rule this one out Roly, QER are very reluctant to give out info, they want to repair things themselves, rightly so, but they could be a bit more flexible.
They got my back up one day when they refused to give advice on a burnt resistor on a board, backfired on them really cos I don’t use them as often now π₯maltheviking

kiddo66 wrote:[They want everybody to pay up front for the repairs now, this was one of the reasons cited for the fixed pricing.
You wouldnt give your credit card details for a repair if you didnt know exactly how much they were taking out of your account. They are also a bit reluctant to turn out to a repair if you havenβt a card. I booked a call with them for a one of my customers who happens to be nearly blind (cheapest option as modules a had blown) Miss Hotpoint was rather demanding of a card; I advised her that the customer had a chequebook and cash but no card and that he was blind.
She asked me for my card!!!!!!! by this time I was loosing it big style so I politely asked her if she would like to put it in writing that Hotpoint now had a policy of discriminating against blind people, she had an engineer out that afternoon π :rolls:maltheviking

andy_art_trigg wrote:I haven’t had a chance to read every single post on this thread but has anyone asked the question why Hotpoint have all of the sudden offered to repair any of their appliances under their five-year guarantee no matter how old? Why would they suddenly do this? Are they struggling for money or desperate for work for their engineers?
Quite simple, “business” I suppose the British side of it want’s to keep their employees in a job, as for the Italian side of it I don’t think they will give too much of a toss as long as they can rip off the British public for as much as they can. I can’t see the spagetti munchers having to much concern about the Brit. workers either as we have seen with Creda π₯ The worst that can happen is they sell off the company when they have done enough damage or the public loyalty to Hotpoint dwindles :rolls: I will still be in business though π π π

hotpnt wrote:if the ice was below the evaporator then its best to lower the defrost heater on the bottom few runs, so that one loop sits just below evap & prevents further build ups, (there is a kit also with an extra heater, but ive done it this way lots of times with no repeat problems)
Thanks hotpnt, you don’t happen to know the part no of this kit please? π

ParticipantRe: Another joke.
With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person, which almost went unnoticed last week.
Larry LaPrise, the man that wrote ‘The Hokey Cokey’ died peacefully at the age of 93. The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg in…. And then the trouble started. π
Shut up. You know it’s funny

MORNING SEX :rolls:
She was in the kitchen preparing to boil eggs for breakfast.
He walked in; She turned and said,
You’ve got to make love to me this very moment.’
His eyes lit up and he thought,‘This is my lucky day.’
Not wanting to lose the moment, he embraced her
and then gave it his all;
Right there on the kitchen table.
Afterwards she said,‘Thanks,’
and returned to the stove.
More than a little puzzled, he asked,‘What was that all about?’
She explained,
‘The egg timer’s broken.’ -
