    Re: bosch dishwasher sms 3042gb/03

Very easy with the right tools and can be done without moving the appliance

In fact I did one today as it happens, very cheaply too 🙂

If you click here:-Repairs@ I am sure a local independent repairer such as myself can do you the same service 😀

Not good enough in this case neptune, you really need to replace it in a case like this. The Module relay dry joint will only lead to the motor not working at all!

Change the Tacho Coil mate 😉

Since it was pointed out to me about the ‘stat knob trick’ by the incredible flying Penguin long ago, I can confirm that Part No:155314 will solve your problem completely 😆

Well as no error code comes up on this one then I guess best to check all the usual failings? Air Chamber?, Heater down to earth? Drain probs? Interlock? Cold Solenoid? etc etc

Probably not heating up?…Does the water heat up whilst it is washing all this time? Does it fill with water and start washing?

Say what you like about MIKE THE BIKE but I think he, after all said and done is without doubt the nuttiest we have ever come across here on UKW 😆

The things he comes out with make a grown man cry with all sorts of emotion and after all said and done he is …a bloody good laugh! :rotfl:

It is such a comfort for us to realise that at least the far Southern reaches of mainland Britain do have someone to turn to if their washing machine breaks down. Someone prepaired to call out in all weathers, all seasons, all events to cover any eventuality!

Comfort in the realisation that his services come cheap (no wife & kids to support after all – lives in a Council house with his widowed father, who pays the rent) His experience is boundless (since he found free technical support from UKW) his talents endless!

Now Christmas is coming all too soon enough I know, and what more appropriate time that we ought to think of others before we think of ourselves? And so I propose we should consider carefully the benefits of MIKE THE BIKE as a friend and colleague by donating to his cause, ensuring his friendship and support by providing what, without doubt would be a fitting tribute from us to him as a simple ‘Happy Christmas Mike’……

    Re: Zannusi FJS1225 Burning smell

My apologies to MickGeorge for fuffin’ up the thread on his problem Zanussi (I can smell burning by the way…. 🙄 )

….but on the point about carring out ‘Electrical Safety checks on appliances” and stuff! The general rule is indeed to short out both live and neutral terminals together the other on the earth terminal, close the door of the appliance and switch on before taking a reading. Switching the appliance on is very important to obtain any reading at all within the appliance… 😉

BUT, firstly you need to test that the earth pin on the plugtop does connect to the appliance. Therefore it is important to carry out a low voltage ‘multi-meter type’ earth resistance check between the plugtop and an available grounding point on the appliance. Unless that is done, your meggar test is a useless exercise 8)

If these procedures are not carried out on completion of every repair and it subsequently turns out that someone gets electricuted as a result, then look out!

Indeed not again, not even mentioned is it

However exemption clauses from 1- f. onwards through 2, 3 and 4 are to what I was referring to 😉

Its a standard policy practice and full of holes, so do beware. Oh and you may have to have it serviced by them regularly at an additional charge (not sure on that but something to further check on as I cannot see a machine working for 10 years without at least some expensive maintenance clause adding to prop up such a warranty??)

    Re: Repairs@ Forum?

Has the dust settled since Mark raised his last point I wonder? (Multiple listing for one Postcode area that is)…being looked into I guess?

I am still unsure as to what exactly the yell.com listing (how does it work exactly?) in relation to Repairs@ and the likes of eastlmark being at the bottom of the list and the expected flood of enquiries? 🙁

I’m also somewhat bemused at many that answer the publics enquiries without adding or even mentioning Repairs@.Now I think that whilst they are all very clever and helpful at diagnosing their problems (thumbs up to them*), unless Repairs@ are mentioned by them as advisable, some poor bugger is likely going to loose yet another job to the POWER OF THE INTERNET 👿

    Very clever stuff indeed!!!!

    * I’m giving away prizes to anyone that spots whenever I fail to refer the public towards Repairs@ by the way 😈
