    Hovis

They’ve been at it for years you know, and you can’t whack a bit of their farmhouse crusty with just a bit of Anchor and Marmite on, first thing in the morning..

    LOVELY! 😆

If you speak nicely to Tony at EMW, he will tell you where he buys the copper strips he uses to mend blown tracks on PCB edge connectors 😉

Once a small strip of the flat copper is laid over the PCB edge, you can solder a link wire to the nearest solder post on that track (i.e hard wire).

Maplins also stock the relevant bits you need and as iadom states, the success rate is about 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} (ish 😉 )

Not at all Richard, the matter is only for subscribers to decide what best to do with their fund (as it stands at the moment that is). Therefore we need only ask each and every subscriber and that can be done via a PM. The vote must be pretty much unanimous though so any objections will be treated with the greatest respect and consideration. That process should not take long at all. 🙂

Meanwhile I need to ask Ken just two things to get this thing rolling:-

    1) We need costings on such an investment to be sorted and made available?

    2) Can you email the full list of subscribers that I may PM an agreeable questionaire to put to each member please.

    Further comments gentlemen please? 🙂

‘Cos polls for the most part drive me up them, half the time very little information can be gained from a bl**dy poll 👿

Far better people voice their opinions directly especially on such in all important subject. 🙂

Do you not agree Richard? What are your thoughts on the matter?

Good, then I vote we use the funds on this project

We happy bunch of subscribers are all too aware what UKW has given to the trade and the many benefits we trade members have derived from its success. So why don’t we at least contribute our funds to this worthy cause by way of a thank you to Ken and the lads, eh guys?

The whole UKW thing was put together on a shoestring budget by a stalwart group of individuals whose only concern was to unite the trade as a whole into one big voice. To stand up and be counted by those that would otherwise do us and our trade no good whatsoever.

UKW was born out of all this and in spite of several hundreds of hours sleepless nights by Ken & Co, the show is well and truly on the road to success. Furthermore it was all done by them, for us, for nowt !!

Seems like we owe them a great deal, so let us at least say a big thanks by contributing to a brand new server that will make this whole thing soar to even greater heights in 2006. 😀

    Any objections?

Well then no wonder walnut is having problems getting this dryer fixed he’s walked into the wrong shop! The tumble dryer does not have a tuned circuit and the dial on the front is not for tuning into Radio One 😆

But seriously walnut don’t mess around with manual resettable TOC’s, instead fit the correct type and advise your customer on what the 10 minute ‘cool down’ part of the dial is for.(see iadoms post) Having first checked the reverse timer, condenser, fan etc etc 😉

Qualtex do auto-reset TOC’s by the way which will save recalls having to go back and press the button every time 💡 (TOC24 = 120degs TOC26 = 130degs)
