Contacting Whirpool directly should be one way of obtaining a User Instruction Booklet. π‘
Meanwhile if the oven doesn’t work at all, maybe you haven’t set the clock to the time of day and that it is set to “Auto” (on the automatic timed setting). So, reset the clock and ensure you switch it from “Auto” to “Manual” π

But think of it like this, if your phone did not ring or you had no-one to phone, you’d probably be ‘on the parish’ by now :scot:

Marlin,
Usually it means ‘motor failure’ and that more often than not is the motor brushes have worn away. Fairly simple for an expert to fix for you, try this link for one in your area:- Repairs@

Very true Ken as there’s got to be half a ton of gear stacked in there!
I could at a push use the wifes car (hatchback) but the sill is very high so I will have to get that Charles Atlas book out of the library before attempting that delivery option π

My van is racked out and stacked out, it CAN accomodate a washing machine on its side but ONLY when the transit packaging is removed. No way would I deliver a brand new machine in this vehicle, hence the thoughts about getting a trailer! π

ParticipantRe: Dear BSH Man
Sadly my tale ended in tears as it transpires that having not found any apparent reason for this module to blow, I took a chance on replacing it π
Give me a break now!…I found absolutely nothing wrong with any component and no clue as to what caused it to blow. The machine is only 26 months old and used 2 loads a week in a bachelor flat after all. It looks for the most part friggin immaculate!
So I fit the module, it busts into life, I check the motor and the heater cuts in and stuff? All is back to normal, cop his VISA card payment, and off out the door…sorted!
About 8 washes later…..BANG!
Customer on the phone “What are you going to do about it?” I call back and sure enough the bloody IC chip has blown again! I phone Bosch, they haven’t a clue (apparently) phone Tony (EMW) he can’t fix a blown chip.
I’M STUFFED !! ….My customer and I came to an agreement there and then, I refunded the cost of the Module and walked away. Leaving him without a machine and me Β£25 short and MUCH the wiser (or perhaps non the wiser as to what caused it?) So next time I come across one of these babies I know what I will do…Head for the door!

Great news and Maddocks are a brilliant company to deal with anyway. But what then is the difference between the part number you mentioned and the ones our aquatic friend has been fitting all this time? (05-BS-03) π
Which number should I order?

ParticipantRe: One Man Biz @ Home?
OK, I’m trying to make sense of all this and to see the project through I have a number of concerns?
The first of which is that as the machine cannot be delivered DIRECT to my customer and the realisation that if that was indeed possible the delay in getting that delivery would scupper a deal in favour of the sheds. Which means, as I said before, I would have to maintain a stockholding (in my garage) of at least one machine.
Next problem is that in order to deliver that machine by myself to my customer I will need to invest in a trailer and towbar.
That’s my next problem?….Cost???????????
To get a decent trailer (not Halfords crap) will cost me Β£600 π So how many machines will I need to shift to get back into the black on that deal I wonder?
Next concern is that for, my part at least, this deal had better be rock solid and up and running, long before I am willing to shell out on such and outlay. Unless of course the delivery to the customers door issue can be resolved by UKW? And as far as disposing of the old machine is concerned, then thats my customers problem and she will have to get the local council out to get rid of it ( locally thats just Β£10 anyway) so that’s not an issue. π
Now the thing is that the majority of those likely to sell these machine are exactly in the same position as me (one man with one small van) so I am sure they, sooner than later, will draw up the same conclusions. π
Finally I am not sure of the breakdown on the costings here? The machine is Β£400 retail of which I pay UKW Β£320 ? ….not sure on that either π And whatever the cost is per unit, are the terms strictly 28-30 days?

ParticipantRe: Neff S4340X0GB/20 FD7705 Disgwasher Vey Noisy
Very likely the main shaft bearing has got noisy. This usually is due to the main Circulating Pump Housing leaking onto that bearing. The cost to fix isn’t going to be cheap and I estimate a local expert would likely charge around Β£100 in total to fix it?

ParticipantRe: TEST METER CALIBRATION
jazzboyblue wrote:how do they calibrate an electronic/ digital meter anyway?
Indeed Neil, digital meters by definition should maintain their accuracy indefinately. Analogue meters are springs and pivot bearings that need constant tweaking and the cost of that tweaking and extortionate handling charges is unrealistic to say the least.
With most test meters, as long as you have a known value to test against (i.e. Resistors etc) then you can test your own meter on a regular basis!
