ParticipantRe: Bosch WFF2001GB Code
Keith,
Nothing too technical on this one I reckon 8)
Drain Time out fault. Check pump/replace if impellor loose or noisy. Check and clean Air Bell/ Insulation test on Heater. Check drain out especially that crappy drain pipe chamber gizmo (can’t think what Bosch call it right now…its a gizmo to me 😆 ).
Also if the On/Off Switch feels a little sticky/sluggish to operate, change that too

ParticipantRe: British Gas…time to tell all
Ken,
With your permission of course, I propose to notify the public out there about the inefficiencies of the British Gas Homecare Scheme. Its gets us nowhere moaning in private forums about them after all.
If I get a chance later today I will let you see me comments prior to any publication 😀

Thanks boro,
In fact the guy at Bosch Tech Dept asked me the same questions, sadly I could not answer them, so he is sending me in the post a Test Sheet on this model so I can observe the light sequence error coding 😉
I know that in may well be the Power Board (Part No 285737 @ over £220) which I think is what you refer to 😕 The cost only becomes an issue in this case if I make a wrong diagnosis and get stuck with a part I cannot return. Spot on diagnosis therefore is essential BEFORE I order and replace whatever is wrong.
I live in the fervent hope someone will spot my dilema and post back to say…”Yes Martin, it is the blah blah blah that’s faulty, I did one just the same last week!” (I wish eh? :rotfl: )
Meanwhile I wait for the postman to come with the Test sheet, then will go back to the job and see what lights flash before my eyes when I switch on 😯

P.S. I doubt the BSH Engineer in my patch would have a module on his van I could borrow :lol2:

DP,
British Gas as far as I am concerned are an incompetant bunch of cowboys that are using their ‘well recognised public business name’ to hoodwink thousands of customers nationwide into their money grabbing rip-off ‘Homecare’ scheme 👿 That they seek totally underhand tactics to poach hard working, dedicated engineers from small companies on the pretence of a better wage package. These new recruits then enter into a company that doesn’t recognise its ar*e from it’s elbow and could not organise a pi** up in a brewery!!
Our trade does not need cowboys dressed in blue wearing overalls with a BG logo emblazend on their chests, driving brand new Astra Combo Vans all over the friggin’ country 👿
Please tell me you are winding me up DP? 🙂

BG Homecare did ring me last week and asked if I could bill them direct for a couple of new jobs*. I said not “on your nelly, get your customers to stump up the dosh, then claim it back and I will fix it same day!”
…They agreed and I fixed them (probably cheaper than it would have COST them :rotfl:

* Both in Reading actually. (One was from a British Gas Pipeline Engineer who insured his Whirlpool ‘through the firm’ and they failed to deliver…long story to tell you at Sibson :rotl:

Andy,
We are sure to have one for you here on the site but Dave will get back to you on that. the replacement belt is Part No: 481235818164 but Whirlpool want ‘funny money’ for it, so not advisable 🙁
Dave, will no doubt look into an equivalent (Perhaps a POL35 Dave???)

Bob,
No chance of a manual I reckon 🙁 But its not complicated at all, yes it could have zapped the ‘Control Card (Part No: C00097890) but more likely it simply needs ‘Resetting’. 😉
To do that get the customer to ‘press and hold’ the start button for 3 seconds…that may well cure it 💡

Lift the lid and all will be revealed 🙂

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WD62 Washer/Dryer
spoonz,
Indeed the dryer has seperate heating elements. In most cases the ‘Thermal Fuse’ blows especially if you are ever guilty of turning the dryer off without it completing its 10 minutes cool down at the end of each cylce 😉 If you can admit to that, then indeed that will be the fault and a new Fuseable link being fitted will cure the fault. 😉
