ParticipantRe: Data Loss 03/12/04
These things are sent to try us, never mind 🙁 .
Interestingly it doesn’t seem to have affected pm’s but only the forums for some reason 😕

ParticipantRe: Hoover Maxi 6 tumble Dryer
Graham,
Sadly that is the only solution now on this machine 🙁 . The S/Steel drum kit comes complete with shaft, bearing and heater support plate for the complete fix. Cost wise to buy say from Washvac (Parts Center) is around £67- trade +VAT 🙁

ParticipantRe: Corrosion holes in dishwasher tubs.
I haven’t tried Penguins Petro Patch stuff out yet (still waiting on a tube 🙁 ) but one of the problems so often is the location of the corrosion being awkward to seal effectively. For example on the Bosch SGS series the holes appear around the perimeter of the drain filter fixing, and any hole filled with glue/sealant is vunerable to being knocked by the constant filter movement 🙁
As for what to charge? Well, it’s only a 5 to 10 minute job to dry, clean and seal the holes then leave for several hours before using, with not much of a guarantee of a lasting fix I reckon. So at best a cheap fix and no extra charge if it doesn’t 🙄

For me too all Bosch except a Stoves Electric Oven, De Dietrich Gas Hob and a Maytag/Admiral American Fridge Freezer.

ParticipantRe: bosch sgs5312 poor wash pressure
Joe Kav,
From what I’m reading here it appears to me it may simply be ‘water level control problems?’ By that I mean the machine is not filling with sufficent water possibly due to a blocked hose between the ‘Pressure Chamber Unit’ and the sump inlet??
I must say I don’t like your engineers diagnosis and all that about special detergents/cleaning tablets. That will do nothing to cure the problem, it needs taking apart to sort 😉

ParticipantRe: Strange noises from washing machine?
The next stage is to give us the model number of said beast, but I must warn you that I believe from what you have said so far, that the inner drum spigot has cracked 😥 . That would lead to hearing a low frequency knocking type of noise that can also be felt as you touch the outer drum 🙁
Be very careful on this though 😯
Beyond economic repair if my diagnosis is correct by the way 😕

Thanks Sean 🙂 , Ken now knows where I am coming from, so that can only be a good thing, more debate on the wider issue would be appreciated here, thanks 🙂

Fluffys,
Does your machine make the noise as the drum rotates? and if so does it also make the noise when you spin the drum by hand I wonder?

Be nice, you’ll get results.
Hold up Ken, I did try to put in the odd apology in case I was missunderstood and you must realise that before I did ‘Submit’ my posting that one of my “observations/criticisms” related directly back to you of course 🙂 I saw no problem with that as I knew that you would look at it rationally and constructively, as you always do anyway 😉
However if you interpret my posting as “making demands” on yourself, then you got that dead wrong. I am merely using this forum as a way of putting across my personal thoughts in the hope of some reaction and constructive discussion from others, that’s all. 😀
Your the boss, you make the final decisions on anything and everything. If I have been ajudged as stepping out of line, again I apologise, twas not my intention, and I sculk back to my desk………….. 😥
