Re: Which Spares Supplier(Wholesaler) is best ?

Just waking up this thread a little…….Wash Vac (Parts Center) โ“ โ“ …….I don’t know of your experiences but with me in my neck of the woods, when I order stock from them on a ‘Next Day Delivery’ …it comes 3 days later! ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™

Since they moved their parts warehouse from Sittingbourne to somewhere in darkest, rainy Yorkshire it’s all gone to cock ๐Ÿ˜ก

One of their competitors (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) told me it’s because they share a warehouse with Plumb Center ๐Ÿ˜ฏ and Plumb Center customers don’t work at the same speed as we do in the whitegoods trade ๐Ÿ˜• So they are used to shifting and packing the odd bathtub and ballcock to cowboy plumbers that only work when they are sober. ๐Ÿ˜†

Back in June they promised to try and sort out their delivery problems, and meanwhile an interim measure was to ask their customers to place orders before 1 pm to ‘guarantee’ a next day delivery ๐Ÿ˜ฏ So, I place an order at 11:58 am and it arrives at 3:30 more than 75hrs later. In fact I get the invoice for the goods I ordered from Sittingbourne faithfully the next day sure enough…perhaps that’s what they meant by ‘next day delivery’ ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

That ‘competitor’ I mentioned however, has a much better system. Firstly, I place my order via the Internet, I know the items I have ordered are in fact in stock the moment I place the order. I hit the order button at 3:30 pm and I do get the goods delivered less that 24 hours later (22hrs actually) and they use exactly the same courier.

…explain that ‘Parts Center’ before I pull the plug on an account I have held with you for over 25 years ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

    Good Lord!

I see what you mean Dave. When Brian said that manuals were available for most* if not all models, I guess he didn’t realise us guys out here were excluded?

By virtue of the fact they allow us to order parts from information gained by purchasing their CD Roms, sadly without the technical information that should be available we are still, on the dark side of the moon ๐Ÿ˜•

*It works the same for many of the later Manuals on the issue 3 by the way ๐Ÿ™

No need to worry Mark, when the heater on those m/c’s go, it takes the Module with it and its ‘Goodnight Vienna’ anyway ๐Ÿ™„

Ease up on your stock levels there ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜†

    Brian,

Got my ‘Issue 3’ today (same price as issue 2 though ๐Ÿ™ ) but at least you have reduced the charge for each additional user from ยฃ20 to ยฃ5 so that is a relief and thanks for that ๐Ÿ™‚

All those new models on there, each with their own ‘Service Manual’ @ ยฃ15 a throw ๐Ÿ˜ฏ How nice it would be if we could have all this info on a future CD/DVD eh? or cheaper and better still off the Merloni website (downloadable PDF files – brilliant ๐Ÿ’ก )

    Issue 4 perhaps โ“ ๐Ÿ˜€

    Noch,

I do not recognise the model number you gave? (Are you in the UK I wonder?) But nevertheless a metal tub that has rusted through is a lost cause ๐Ÿ™

Sealing with epoxy resin glue a short term fix, even braze welding another option. But time has been called on this machine if we are to face the truth I’m afraid ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Without question it is a module failure. Error flashes only give a guidance (maybe) of the likely fault and after all, in this case, it’s another duff module ๐Ÿ™ EMW can sort it for you as the only hope ๐Ÿ™‚

    Re: Badly packed spares

BSH Appliance Care Ltd rarely put any packing material in their boxes anyway. ๐Ÿ™ I ordered a ยฃ120 module last month, it came in its own box BUT was put in another box twice its size, rattling about in that box like the proverbial ‘P in a B’ ! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

I hate that shredded cardboard Connect use but better than nowt I guess ๐Ÿ™„

Parts Center (Wash Vac) are full of wind with their inflatable packaging though ๐Ÿ˜†
