Re: Bosch WVF2000 Programme Dial Broken

Sadly you cannot get just the replacement broken part of the Control Knob. It comes as a complete control panel fascia with knobs attached 🙁

Cost around £70 + P&P etc. Need exact model number and FD number for correct part number 😉

    Re: Technical Fault!! Please Help!!

    Rich,

Most likely it is caused by condensation building up in the heater casing? Unplug the machine and remove the rear heater cowling, check the element fixing carefully. Also could be something like a hairgrip, silver foil or even a bra wire caught thru the back of the drum onto the element 😯

Also empty the water reservoir, remove and flush clean the condensor unit, clean the lint filter and inside the door panel.

    That should cover it 😆

Good Lord!…I have learned something today after all 🙂 ….but sadly after all said and done, little to recharge my pacemaker or to oil the wheels on my bathchair. 😆

When my missus comes home tonight from work and asks me what I got up to today, she will be little impressed in knowing that I now know what a blog is 😯

Thanks guys anyway for the info 🙂

Re: Hotpoint WM Series Armatures OBSOLETE!

I have found since running out of stock of the 1603071 Armatures, that fitting the Qualtex ARM20 Armature and swapping the small tacho magnet over, does the job 😉 The Hotpoint genuine equivalent 161498 is still produced by them and readily available.

But what I haven’t yet established is whether the Qualtex one will actually fit the entire WM speed range as they claim (i.e 800/1000 and 1200). Hotpoint always had 2 seperate armatures 161498 covering 800 & 1200 and the 161747 just for the 1000rpm. So far I have only fitted the ARM20 to a 1200 machine (WM64P) with no problems 🙂

    Re: New World Grill Pan

This may be a flash in the pan answer I know 😆 BUT why not supply one of those pattern Grill Pan assemblies AND I guess a wire shelf that fits into the adjustable grill slots 💡 8)

Measure the gap and supply a wire rack to fit 😆

    Bl**dy sight cheaper too!

Re: Amusing Ancedotes & Other Tales

Well this thread seems to have died a death I must say 🙁

Ah well ! Not to be discouraged here’s another tale from my experiences over the years: –

Once upon a time long, long ago (1971 actually) I was ‘Field trainer/supervisor’ for BDA Hotpoint Ltd and our depot was based in Reading. Outside the office building there was usually a couple of Transit vans backed up against the wall (spare vans).

One day one of my ‘engineers’ limped into the office with a duff van and I gave him one of these spare vans and away he went. It was early evening so I went home and would sort his faulty van in the morning.

The next morning I found the police had cordonned off the entire trading estate (including The Reading Evening Post works) and hundreds of people were walking about in total frustration and confusion. I asked a policeman what the problem was, he said there was a ‘Bomb Scare’ somewhere near to the ‘Hotpoint Building’ and for everyones safety they shut the whole estate!!!

2 hours later the Army Bomb Disposal Team shot by, sirens blaring. Another half hour later they left and declared the area safe and everyone was allowed to their respective workplaces. As I approached the Hotpoint building, 3 burly policemen, arms folded, clicking their heels 🙂 were standing next to one of the spare vans.

“Do you work here sir?” they asked. “Yes!”, I cowered. “Who is responsible for the vehicles parked here sir?”….Quick as a flash I replied “George Morris the Manager, why, what’s up?”….”It appears sir that someone left a box of fridge thermostats and several absorpsion fridge heating elements ( 😆 they looked like sticks of dynamite ) UNDER THIS VAN!!!!”

It appears the previous evening in my haste to set up my engineer with a spare van, I didn’t transfer all the boxes of spares over 😳

Thanks Ken but you missed my point but hey no problem 🙂

What my idea was….on the ‘e-Jobs’ thread……that UKW logo could be ‘modified’ to include the name of the individual company. The ‘example’ I gave was: – Enterprise Services above the UKW logo to include http://www.ukwhitegoods.com(in the centre)and below that : Approved Member.

    Just a thought 😀

    Re: Vynil Sticky Labels?

I have been using the NEBS “Tough Shield” vinyl labels for years (Product code 8501-T) They are transparent labels with black type which are indestructable and do not fade or shrink. Because they are transparent customers generally do not object to them being stuck on the front of the machine.

Great way to go for repeat business! 😉

The AEG Dryer is 580mm deep 🙂

The AEG washing machine cannot be adjusted but all models of Meile have adjustable options you require 😉

If you can afford Meile….its a better machine overall!

First thing to check is the state of the heating element and the t/stat and safety stats attached to it?

If they are OK then the relay on the Power Module has burnt out I expect?

Very rarely also, a fault in the wiring loom around the door hinge 😉

There is not a DIY solution to your dryer problem but nevertheless something that can be sorted very reasonably for you. 😉

“Basingrad?” Do I take it you are from the Basingstoke area by that alias? If so then I can surely help 🙂

    Lee,

It almost certainly is something caught in the pump 🙂

Take off the bottom kick panel and the pump is accessed by unscrewing the filter housing anticlockwise and pulling it free (have a couple of towels handy to soak up the floods if it’s full of water 😉 )

A button, hairgrip or coin are the most likely culprit I reckon 8)

    Mark,

The only way to add a comment I find is to ‘right click’ on ‘add comment’ then ‘open’….that should do it 😉
