I agree with your sentiments Eric, or as we say in the trade : – “If in doubt chuck it out…………..and by a Bosch!”

Sorry! But I am a ‘blue collar worker’, always start at the back page first 😯 But at least I figured it out in the end, do I get and extra star now 🙂 ❓ or do I have to go to the back of the class 😥

Eric,
Its not a ‘water level sensor’ I refer to but a “Water level system fault code”. Not a job for the ‘handyman’ really but someone who knows would need to be sought. Check out one of our guys who can help via our ‘Directories’ listing. (Just type in your postcode area.)

10 flashes indicates a water level system failure. However from my experience this can be very misleading as the main circuit board can cause many and varied false readings. 😥 But at least it’s a start for somewhere to seek out the fault 🙄

You had me guessing on this for a while but I finally figured it out what you meant 😕 …………..You have changed the name from “Database” to “Directories”…….right? 🙂

P.S. I see there is no listing for “Franchises” yet? 😆 LOL 😆

How’s this for an idea 💡
Why don’t we, UKW that is, officially write to Peterborough asking if we (our members) can help? Come on guys, slagging off the apparent motives is all very well but many of us could use this job opportunity. 🙂 Whereas it is clear from the postings so far at least, others will just sit on the fence pulling funny faces at them! 😉
Now let me see, was is Mohammed that went to the mountain or the other way about 😉 What reason would Peterborough have, not to at least respond? It’s all very well saying why didn’t they approach UKW, when the people concerned may not even have heard of us (I’m not convinced they are aware in ALL departments) So what’s to lose in that eh????? 😯

The conclusion being that we’re all in the wrong business then eh? 🙄 Posh houses worth a fortune, money no object, name your price 😀
Nah! I for one am very happy in my lot BUT at least I can relate my business ethic to many adopted by Pimlico Plumbers, i.e Smart shiny sign written van with cherished number plates, well turned out every day with clean fresh uniform, start promptly at 8:30, check my job list and away to face my first batch of happy smiley faces! 😉
Couldn’t do that if I were a plumber having to face a blocked bog!! 🙁 No way man!!!! 8)

Pretty bold albeit somewhat vague statement to make ❓ I wonder what you mean by that as they appeared to being a pretty slick outfit on the telly? A company (now a ‘plc’) that has grown from strength to strength employing top flight tradesmen operating in a ‘posh’ part of town with a client base of discerning wealthy customers 😉
It seems the ideal situation we in this trade can only dream of and I wonder if there is a Domestic Appliance Service Company here in the UK (other than Meile of course) who can come anywhere near close 😕
Have they buggered up your boiler Kentish or what I wonder?

ParticipantRe: Local Trading Standards Authority
Just got back from Hampshire Trading Standards ‘Certificate Presentation Ceremony’. Where invited new members to their ‘Buy with Confidence Scheme’ are formally welcomed, presented with their ‘Official Framed Membership Certificate’ and photographs taken. A short talk was given about the aims and standards required etc. etc. All followed by an informal chat over tea and biscuits, very nice. 🙂
The scheme is apparently taking off very well not only in Hampshire but Bedfordshire and Devon. Other countys are looking on with great interest and all under the watchful eye of the National Trading Standards Authority. It is almost certainly going to be a scheme adopted by the whole of the UK eventually under one unified scheme, possibly within the next year or two.
Meanwhile if your county hasn’t a scheme running at the moment, you would be well advised to ‘keep your ear to the ground’ so to speak. Contact them and say you would like them to join in the scheme and you would like to register your interest. 😉

Bang on right it does Ken!
As I have mentioned before in my postings about them way back, their reps all drive flash cars too!
Every year a different one turns up, same spiel, laptop ad demo all that cr@@p. I always say, “Cut the cr@@p mate, how much has my advert gone up this year then?”….They always reply that it hasn’t gone up by much but for just another £15 a month I could have a bigger one!!
I think mines big enough and my missus agrees 😆 😆 Especially now I have got ‘dots’ in front of it 😆 😆 😆

Do you know how long it takes before the 1st lot of calls come in roughly?Certainly by the end of the month I should think most copies will be distributed and possibly delivered.
Incidentally it is a known fact that the percentage return for direct ‘thru the letterbox’ advertising(which includes YPages’s) is less than 1{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}. Which when you consider their circulation potential, ain’t bad 😉
Best of luck!
