If you put in your Postcode in our “Directories” section, I’m sure someone will cover your area 🙂

Jackie,
You may recall some many weeks back I sent you an email requesting that your firm (A to Z SparesLtd) should add your details in our ‘Directories’ listing 🙂 . Please contact webmaster@ukwhitegoods.co.uk to apply.

ParticipantRe: Pin hole in stainless steel
I remember many months back someone (probably it was you Sparkey?) touched on this subject before mentioning BSH Appliance Care’s Solder ❓ I could’nt extract any info from them directly at the time so any further on this would be appreciated.
Silver Solder will do the trick I believe, but you need a high wattage soldering iron for that! With larger holes an ideal ‘trick’ is to enlarge the hole with a 6mm drill and use the old Hoover white rubber ‘Tub Bung’ Part No 09010828 (Obsolete now which doesn’t help much 😉 ) though I still have a good van stock of them.
Epoxy Resin glue doesn’t work for long ‘cos the detergent eats it up eventually!

What’s this? “The Weather Channel?”……No that’s in the USA!
But, we all know it rains in Blackpool so I guess there’s little need for you guys to be donning shorts anyway.
It will be 28 degrees again here in the real world though (in’t South)tomorrow, so it’s on with my pink shorts again I reckon 8)
Do stay cool and out of the hot sun 8)

Shouldn’t be a problem Chris 🙂
Give us more info though please. Model no. Serial No. PNC no etc. We all work here with computers and computers demand the right numbers to give the right answers 😉

Mary,
It is well worth repairing and I would say that £30 a very reasonable rate for this day and age. Furthermore it is likely, given its relatively young age, that the repair will not be too costly and worth repairing.
Possibly may need a new Door Gasket? Or even a new Front Drum Plate? Neither of which are expensive to replace 😉

Steve,
Why on earth would you want to downgrade into this business from aeronautics trade I wonder? From ‘high flying’ to being fully ‘grounded’ in this down at earth trade 🙁
Richard Branson will surely with pay much more than the likes of Mr Merloni does in this game I reckon 😉

ParticipantRe: Customer Database
Last weekend I was having trouble backing up my Customer Database due to the fact my CD re-writer was playing up for some reason. Now I have been having problems recently transfering the data via these CD Roms to my Laptop. Very slow reading the disc, dirty tracks and all that tosh you’ve heard of before I’m sure. 😕
Well I thumbing through the weekend paper when I read about “Memory Sticks”…………Eureka!..that will solve my problems for sure! 💡
Brilliant, super tiny, clever little 128mb device now hangs from my keyfob ready to backup all I ask of it….Why the hell didn’t I figure that out earlier?…Oh I know…I’m an old git trying to keep up I guess 😕
Thanks PC World!

APG wrote:Merloni are paying their franchises £1.00 more than two years ago. In-guarantee rate is £16 something as I was told by our EX APG engineer who was poached from us by a District Manager from Merloni 👿
A diabolical tale and no mistake, poaching pure and simple and sadly a practice as much alive today as ever was. Why on earth though are our best guys being lost in this way? They obviously are not being paid £16 a completed call but why risk everything for such a paltry sum and the total insecurity of such a scheme beggars belief! 😮
kwatt wrote:The only way I could see that working was if all the bits and bobs, like a van and the PC, insurances etc. were included in the deal.
Well any ‘poached’ engineer would only have the clothes he stood up in when he deserted. So that would be an expense that simply would not balance out unless it formed part of the deal. And we all surely don’t believe that of Merloni for one moment! 😉

ParticipantRe: Indesit Evolution WDE 12.
Chris,
First thing is you need to cancel and fully reset the programme otherwise it will continue off from its last setting. Can’t remember how to reset it right now sadly. But it is a simple button ‘push and holding’ exercise anyhow and menu driven anyway for you to figure it out 😉
Look for the most obvious if there is a fault, first stop, check the pump department etc etc. Go for it!! 🙂

Listening to her underwater is a pleasurable sensation even for an old codger like me. Keeps my ardour cool too, which aint a bad thing either 😉

And when the machines flood, what better place for it to happen, than in the bathroom eh? 😉
Talking of floods and stuff, those of you guys with swimming pools, an absolute ‘must have’ is underwater speakers 8) How the hell I managed to swim around my pool without a ‘hydrophonic sound system’ I will never know 8)
I Installed a simple 4 speaker ‘Neptune’ (get it… 8) )system this season from these guys:-
http://www.kelsound.co.uk/cat3.htm
and I swim around to my ‘Ipod’ plugged into my sound system, stuffed full of great tracks….!!If you have never heard ‘Dido’ from the deep blue before you don’t know what your missing pal 😀 Get out in the back garden and start digging, there’s enough of the season left 😉
Oh and always advise your customer to shut the bathroom door whilst the machines are banging away (additional safety precautions) ‘Cos you never know….?? 😉

Mike,
Not a problem. I reckon you haven’t removed the 3 “Transit Bolts” holding the drum solid against the back panel. Do read your installation instructions and remove as illustrated in them 😉
