ParticipantRe: Whirlpool creations AWZ 121 tumble dryer
Ray,
Your dryer should finish the last 10 minutes ‘cool down’ still tumbling as normal but with the heating element switched off.
If it doesn’t do that then possibly the Timer is at fault??

Alex,
No point in going to Imola for the Italian GP (Sat/Sun 12 Sept) as Schumacher has already got it in the bag again this year. Turned the whole season into another blooming excuse to fall asleep in front of the telly these last few Sundays actually. 🙁
So boring in fact I watched paint drying yesterday. Rather than watching the race I painted a biscuit tin, one half in Mercedes Silver and the other in Ferrari red. Guess which side dried the fastest????

You must ensure you fit a new seal (Bosch Part No: 036071 Cost around £3 available via our “Help desk”) otherwise the bearings will go again in less than 6 months 🙁
Pedro wrote:Should I use silicone sealer when I reassemble?
Certainly not, no glue/sealant must be used whatsoever!

No worries technics, the phone will ring I am sure. Is it in Wolverhampton or in Jamaica that this edition of Yellow Pages has been published I wonder 😉
If its in Jamaica, you could knock on everyones door, ask for their Yellow Pages and tear out the first 4 pages 😆
If its Wolverhampton then I would just sit tight and wait for the phone to ring 😉
(Do they have phones in Wolverhampton 😯 )

ParticipantRe: Installing New Bearings and Shaft Seal to Spanish Bosch
Pedro,
I assume you are referring to a WFB1605 😕
If that is the case then the ‘Drum Spigot’ (which houses the bearings and water seal) does fairly easily slide over the drum shaft, with perhaps a light application of high speed grease onto the shaft. 😉
One needs to gently tap the spigot into position whilst at the same time pulling the drum shaft through. Once you have fully located the bolts onto the 4 spigot leg fixings, you should be able to attach the drum pulley and bolt it into position.
There is no need to remove the inner/outer drum from the cabinet in order to do this. It is all done from the back and the top 🙂
Hope that helps?

Bryan,
That’s true, one of the thieves answers to the name of “Boris” and he has booked a stall at Wimbledon next week!
Interpol have alerted the Met though, they have been asked to look out for a tall, ginger haired cross dresser that hangs around in hotel closets 😉

Easy guys! 🙄
I only posted it as a bit of a ‘wind-up’ (get it 😆 “Cuckoo clocks an all). Actually the fridge works as best it can under the conditions and I know one cannot seriously expect a domestic fridge to store beer at the correct temp.(Lager yes, beer no)
Took the beer out now and onto the coffee table, warming up in time for the kick off!!
Thanks guys and apologies for my quaint/weird sense of humour 😉

It’s bad enough scooping last nights curry out of some filthy dishwasher sump but messing around with Waste Disposal Units and all those potato peelings, tea bags, eggshells and shoosh extraordinaire ???…no way lady!!

Good advice ! 🙂 As far as I recall these ‘Candy’ machines have 2 pumps 😕 The front one with the filter/strainer attached being the ‘wash’ pump and the rear being the ‘drain’ pump.
I often get ‘have a go’ customers saying they have “checked the filter and its all clear!” without realising there’s another pump behind that’s at fault 😉

Martin,
Many thanks for taking the time to share your problems with this errant washing machine. We at UKW do learn a great deal from ‘customer feed back’ which is much appreciated. Thanks 🙂
I can only conclude at this point that “con” is indeed associated with a ‘controlled programme time out’…i.e. Something caught in the pump caused the vague ‘Error warning’…Most interesting 😉
Sadly (and what seems abundantly clear in this case) Indesit (aka Merloni) do not give us in the trade any technical information whatsoever. We (the heartbeat of the trade) need this information in order to correctly diagnose errant faults in electronic/computer controlled machines such as yours. One day we will get through to the likes of Merloni that sharing information with us can solve many problems and improve trade relations.
It is interesting to observe that in your case however, even their engineer hadn’t a clue (sorry…was baffled!) which isn’t too alarming for us anyway. Nevertherless we will continue to try and help you (the general public) out with our knowledge all very much willingly AND FOR FREE 😉
