Re: Bush DWFS 126 salt problem

Do another maximum wash cycle without dishes in the hope of clearing the problem. Otherwise there is a problem with the salt regeneration process I would think. Though a sudden report of white salty deposits is almost always associated to a salt cap, salt cap threads cracked or salt lid gasket failure.

Does the White deposit taste of salt? Have you overfilled the salt container and not secured the cap?

I don’t have a manual for this model. I have one for a similar model (with the display) and self-test procedure will probably be similar, not certain though. What I do know is the following:

Error Phase is a special protective mode that’s set every time a critical Error is detected:
    • All LEDs flash together at 4 Hz. The buzzer beeps at 1 Hz (1 beep per second).
    • The motor rotates the drum in clockwise sense.
    • All buttons are inhibited, as long as the machine is in the Error mode.
    • All LEDs flash until the Program Selector is moved (the door can be opened).
Every time the Dryer is found in Error Phase, it must be powered OFF and restarted. If the Error Phase persists, then launch the AUTO-TEST to be informed about the Error Code.

I think all LED’s flashing indicates an error code so count the flashes.

Fair enough, sticking in a new dispenser unit should resolve the problem. I’m sure she is aware also that any intervention by a third party will void the guarantee for anything else that fails later.

This heap of Smeg junk is usually the air chamber blocked, as E/fix said, or the pump knackered.

    Bosch/Hotpoint dishwasher recall?

The Control Unit is changed in all instances and should be configured correctly for each model variant otherwise progs are all screwed up.
