Are you sure it’s the motor? Couldn’t it rather be the drum bearings making the noise?

The model number would help us. 😉

Chances are the base tray is flooded and the anti-flood device operating. (Will often do that even if switched on and door opened).

No lights on the control panel however doesn’t sound good. 😕

That Casaparts timer defo worth a punt. It’s secondhand true enough but the pins look sound, not burnt. Assuming it is still in stock go for it!

Ah I see my suspect #3 is the problem. Yes indeed the timers have been obsolete for years but I recall some timer and module repair companies might just be able to help with a replacement? Not certain though, I’m going back a bit since I last checked. Oh and eBay of course.

Heating element or circulation pump motor earth leak. It’s one or the other my guess.

A leak in Leek? The irony 😉

The condenser gasket leaking maybe? Is it seated properly?

If this is still under guarantee just read the troubleshooting section of the user instructions. Check out those and if no cure give Bosch service a call.

    1. will the machine only advance through the wash cycle if the water actually heats up?

    Yes.

tiger750 wrote:2. could someone give me sequence of things to check.

    1) Double, treble check, the heater wire not broken in wiring harness near the hinge. That is THE most likely.

    2) Check the stat connected to the heater, all contacts should be closed?

    3) Burnt out heater switch contact in the timer?

    4) The heater faulty?

You’ve replaced the pump then right? So with water in the condenser sump the float microswitch turns the new pump on? But water doesn’t pump up into the water container? Hose blocked? Nozzle at the end of the hose blocked?

    Please clarify. 🙂

Re: UK Whitegoods drain pump compatibility

I agree with kwatt in that the drain pump would not be the issue. But to put your mind at rest, the M113 and M109 are pretty much identical and our trade preference is the M109.

If the burning smell were associated with the dryer heating element and dryer air circulation the smell would be all apparent by opening the door. No smell inside the drum then time to check external components, including, the wall socket !!!

Firstly check that the plug and wall socket are OK. Try another socket elsewhere in the room.
Secondly if the power supply to the machine is not the issue it could be the mains filter or the control unit (main PCB) ?

It has a conventional thread (as illustrated) and therefore unscrews anti-clockwise.

    WVH28420GB/02 Mark 😉

In order to establish if the Power Module is at fault you first need to do a voltage check on the operating module on the control panel (as illustrated below)….
