ParticipantRe: Whirpool AWO/D5706 dead!
Hi Gav, I too had a great deal of trouble finding this component.
it is indeed a 22ohm 2 watt wirewound resistor.
I got mine from CPC (http://cpc.farnell.com/)
and the part number is RE03297
It is physically larger and the plastic cover has to be cut slightly to allow fitment.
I think it has to be soldered both sides of the board too if I remember right.

ParticipantRe: LG WM16220FD Wash M/c No Motor Action?
Hi Laurence, it sounds like the hall effect sensors are at fault – which are part of the stator assy.

It doesn’t look like the usual larger ceramic type resistor, it looks more like a normal carbon resistor.
If its possisble to post a picture of the board, I should be able to point out the part.
I had a job finding a suitable resistor, and found some which were a bit larger an had to cut a rectangular piece out of the plastic holder to accomodate it.This is what they look like http://www.welwyn-tt.com/pdf/datasheet/EMC.PDF

ParticipantRe: Whirpool AWO/D5706 dead!
Hi Martin, i have had this very problem myself, and after finding out the cost of a new board I decided to find the problem with the original. It turns out that there is a 22ohm 2watt wirewound resistor on the board that goes. I replaced the part and have had no problems since

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WF Series 30mm Seal
Sounds like they sent you the old type “Skirt Seal” that used to meet up with the stainless steel washer on the cast bearing spider

Or maybe it could be the safety stat – not sure if it is a one-shot device on this model?

ParticipantRe: A Hunch On Smelly Washers
hard to tell because low temp washing and plastic tanks seem to have come about together in time ❓

Do the triacs switch on neutral?Yes John, the live to the triac is through the valve and provides the neutral when valve operation is required.

ParticipantRe: C.Card payments
Wouldn’t it be great if, instead of all the engineers having to have their own equipment and accounts in order to take cards, ‘someone’ – for arguments sake say UKW, ran a service for us all to take cards by way of a quick call with a customers credit card details.
The ‘someone’ could then send the engineer the payment (less their processing fee) 😕Probably daft of me to think of something like this so I’ll get ready to be shot down :rolls:

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint 30mm Seal (Again!)
Hotpoint introduce the WMA range which apart from a problematic drum shaft seal was a reasonable machine, good simple electronics, they overcame the seal problem with the rubena seal and the machine was quite reliable. Indesit move in…. now look – rubbish bearings and seals – welded tanks – oh and the electronics 😈

ParticipantRe: Biasco Bust!
It looks like there is a problem with the link on the front page Ken.
At the end of the Biasco text where it says “in this story”, it would seem the link has been hacked 👿Martin114
ParticipantRe: AEG T57560 Tumble Dryer
I had this problem before and it turned out to be the electronic module (intermittantly not powering motor, but keeping the heater on!)

ParticipantRe: Whitegoods February Meeting
Just like to say many thanks for the day at Sibson.
I was very impressed with the new machines especially the new ISE5 with its quiet induction motor.
The new ISE5 dishwasher looks great and servicing it looks like a breeze.
Looking forward to the next meeting now.Martin
