    Hi Mike
I’ve replaced loads of these on candys and hvrs ,I once read tech info a fews years ago and it said that even if the values check out they can still be faulty 😕 they are now part of my van stock and when they go faulty the machine can do all sorts of funny little things.

    Hi 🙂
I’ve been looking at this course, is the course a legal requirment to work on system faults or can you work on them as long as you recover and dispose of the refrigerant properly ❓
    thanks mark

    Re: Zanussi FJS1225 Time Travelling

On the AEG the machine would go back in time on the Quick was and the Cottons cycle but seemed better on the Synthetic Programmes due to the motor not getting so hot .I never did it but could you link out the TOC 🙂
just to try .The AEG turned out that it needed a Motor and a PCB as there was an update on that version I think to reduce the number of revolutions on wash ❓

    Re: Zannusi FJS1225 Burning smell

I went on a course to bolton one time to be shown about the hoover backdragon version machines ( or whatever they were called) and the procedure I was shown was earth continuity then live earth and then nautral earth repair appliance select test programme and whilst water was still in the machine and switch on repeat said insulation test.O ye test motor and dryer part, as seperate so they certainly didn’t have a problem with megging electronic machines. My PAT tester on the other hand does short out the live nautral and tests it that way but I get more fails this way due to the capacitors discharging to earth so which is the safest way or best way ❓

    Re: Portable Appliance Testing

Is all about covering your own back when repairing appliance in private homes or schools so I think as long as you have completed the repair and carried out insulation and earth continuity and visual inspections and then recorderd it on a invoice or if in a school, in there repairs register which the HS Commission recommend and advice for high risk eqiupment.
As for workshop repairs and Hire eqiupment it may well be adviceable to PAT test them and record it
