Well done on the Vestel bit
Somebody local here said they were also
It is all new to me
We can cover the warranty if we so desire at a rediculously low €25 for labour!
Apparantly these machines will not be offered to the big retailers ( maybe they cannot supply ?) so at least we can offer something different so people cannot compare but I am quietly confident that it is not complete rubbish that will reflect badly on us for selling it

I saw a Danish flag so you ‘ve confirmed that !
You are not sounding that upbeat !!! Crap then I suppose ?
Never heard of Vestel but Gorenje yes.
I think I’ll give it a go, can’t be any worse than what we have now
It’s all a bit hit and miss even when you buy in so called ‘quality’
    Cheers !

Yeah thanks Don, you’re right about the Scandi bit I’m sure !
There is something on google about them being Northern Europe without being specific.
Great to have a new brand? Bit sick of Bekos!! They ‘re everwhere !
Quite a few views on this thread without replies so think it could be a genuine new brand ???

Re: Replacing the dampers on a Siemens Washing m/c

I noticed years ago that only the inside pad wears on those suspension legs ( they practically disintegrate don`t they ?) but the one ,let us say, closest to the cabinet stays solid.
As I began scrapping Bosch and Siemens ( plus Balay here in Spain ),(because of all the control module failures!!) If I had the time and inclination, I would remove the good pads and put in a clear plastic bag.
I would then repair my clients `knocking’ faults with the used pads and only charge Labour.
I have been trading 15 years with the same phone number so nowhere to run and nowhere to hide and I have never had a recall. I always use plenty of good quality car grease and the results are clear.
I once quoted someone for the whole job and he did not accept so I lost him as a client?? I wonder if someone else went back and just changed the pads making me look a bandit ??!!
All I am saying is that when I actually do a repair like this then I feel useful and of course WIN a client for life.
Great to read this thread btw, well done both !!

Re: how do you deal with non payers?

Every now and then when we get a couple of slow payers, as a business we start to think about refusing to go to constant offenders!
We always end up though biting our tongues when we look at the bigger picture .
People generally pay up it’s just that some like to choose the time themselves!!
We believe that is the flexibility our clients come back to us for !!!
I still hate that feeling though when they leave you dangling and I am with r600 .
I never give up regardless of the amount !

Re: AEG L1451 Washing machine E40 Door Lock

Latch pin not fully engaged through centre of door hook/catch??
This is not visible or obvious generally and you need to open up door to check it -it’ll be in on one side but not exiting through to the other IF FAULTY so you will know!!
Would EMW have a test for that specific door function? Did you explain ?
Did you fit a genuine or generic interlock btw

It looks like an Indesit handle?
Do you know that codes are visible on the oven frame when door is opened either sides or bottom??
Does it matter who owns the oven ? Why would that stop you taking 2/4 retaining screws out and sliding the thing out !!! Don’t get that bit sorry ??

Re: LG WD-80134T washing Machine DE error "removal"

Could also be control module believe it or not !
I changed a door interlock recently for a de fault and it worked very briefly so ended up replacing the control module
I know not exactly your scenario but close enough
You can test the old interlock just to be sure
With your test meter on 20k ohms try to find a resistance between any 2 connectors out of the three given
As long as you find one (does n’t matter value) Interlock is ok
Compare it anyway with your new one? That’ll tell you if your new one is ok also
Something should come to light after all this

    Re: siemens d/w no display

That should read ‘ then pump proved’
It is usually module never a door switch but still have to check of course

    Re: siemens d/w no display

by operating the aquastop float switch this should power up pump which points to module failure
Might be worth trying a continuity check on the Door micro also
If the aquastop test does not run pump when door open the switch proved
Methinks it’ll run door open or closed though

Re: Aspes dishwasher stopping in mid cycle

You will find that it is not heating
Prob sticks just after No 4 on dial
Lower panel off will access the element and safety stat (which will have popped )
No point resetting it without checking the element or it will just go again
I have changed about 100 of these elements !!!

Re: Drum turns but doesn’t spin

    Only can be the motor
The commutator is too badly worn it seems
I did allude to this originally because of 3 brush changes which is extreme
Same as 3 brake pad changes on a car would generally mean new discs as well
I bet you could get a second hand motor very reasonably on E Bay

    Re: Integrated vs Freestanding

Although I am trading in Spain, my company regularly does this exact operation and we have found many appliances that are able to go in the space left if removing the entire cabinet We also carry out the removal of cabinet and I would be surprised if an independant shop local to you would not offer the same service ( It is 30 mins to an 60 mins work depending on circumstances )
If you can get a deal on an Integrated then fine but don’t forget that a freestanding one holds more capacity ( wider for a start ) so if that is what you need ( more space inside ) might be worth doing the conversion??
