    Re: INDESIT WE10UK – Door boot

    Sorry to resurect this one folks

    Went to another of these b@~+{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}* and altho have bought some extra long 90deg snipe nose pliers still found this a right pig this time as clip didnt want to latch together.. looks like you have to be exact in the positioning of the two halves of the clip one behind the other and the one underneath the other for them to latch in but despite tilting m/c back is still dificult to see what you are doing as when you pull the two clips together they disapear down the grove out of sight.. eventually did it but with all the strugle I may have taken some of the tension out of the spring loop. Still as long as it dosnt leak…..

    But.. was just wondering for next time if a Zanussi spring clamp would fit and throw the original away?… What do you guys think and has anyone tried this yet?

    By the way be careful when you tilt these beasts back as they don’t clip the dispenser hose to dispenser and it pulls off.. as I found out :rolls:

    Re: I wanna end it all now….

    The way I look at it is the fact that there are professionials and amatures.. DIY’s are amatures and they don’t have to make a living from a job.

    As a professional I feel I owe it to a customer to do the best job I am capable of and know that when I go to a job the resulting repair comes from 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} know how and 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} experiance..

    Some of the know how I might dispence free of charge to joe public.. but once they want my experence then I believe it should be paid for as it has taken years and many repairs on lots of diferent machines to gain that. It’s taken a lot of hard work, inginuity and sore knuckels to gain that experiance from my point of view… why should someone else get it for free..

    It’s like the tale of the vending machine man who went into a office to unjam a coin in the vending machine.. the engineer went up to the machine and thumped it and out came the coin.. when he presented his £40 bill to the office manager the manager was agast and though it was outrageous for only 2 minuets of work and asked for a breakdown of the bill.. so the engineer wrote down…. thumping the machine £5.00… knowing where to thump it £35.00.. 😆

    I never mind paying a professional for a professional job and thankfully a lot of the public are the same.. It’s when people (myself included) pay a professional and get an amature job they object..

    As far as manifacture’s and their manuals and updates are conserned I have never minded paying a resonable price for that information because I have always wanted to know the best way to repair their machine. Now when they withhold that information, make it an unviable price and date code it so I can only use it for 12 mths.. all they are doing is making me into an amature.

    Fortunately I still have all that experiance which stands me in good stead.

    And thank goodness for a site like this where there are other engineers who are in the same predicament and where we can freely give our know how and experance to one another and help us earn a living.. professionaly..

    Am I worried.. about joe public.. only the fact that a lot want cheaper and cheaper machines.. which means repairs will become less viable.. with manifacurers, yes.. because they ARE making them cheaper and cheaper, more and more complicated and less and less economically repairable..

    One day maybe joe public will get fed up with all this throw away over-complicated rubbish that is palmed off to them and see the light… All a washing machine needs to do is wash the clothes and be reasonably reliable NOt jump through hoops and feed the cat at the same time.. mind you I bet someone would buy one if it did…. 🙂

    Re: White knight dryer no water

    Not sure if it is the same model of drier but went to a whight knight some time ago for similar fault only this one eventually filled the fan chamber and opperated heater TOC.. on that perticular model the resevior was on the base of machine and the drain off holes were clogged with gunge.. maybe the gunge was disturbed moving machine and blocked holes?.. there again this might not be like the model you are having probs with but might help.. 😉

    Re: Whirlpool AWM325 Bearing Hub

    Sorry Alister.. Ordered part b4 I read your post..

    Been back and replaced hub today but cant believe how easy it was.. paniced a bit when didn’t come of in my hand but then couldn’t believe that there were noches on hub to get extractor on and then came of a doddle..

    Why oh why oh why can’t manifactures take a leaf from this example and make a job easy and practicable insead of all the crap, inaccesible, labour intensive rubbish that they turn out now…

    This machine has got my vote of recomandation now.. just hope they haven’t gone loopy on the new machines..

    Hi Folks

    Just been to an Ariston AIB16 which looks like the same type of clamp wire… Looked a right pig but rembered something about a Indesit clamp band being a pig so left it and came back to trawl web site..

    Looked to me like only access was right angled snipe nose pliers but just wondered if there was an official tool to do the job and partno. or do the Indipoint engineers have to stuggle like us independents?

    Thanks Johnmac

    Bolts should come out ok as loosened and tightened them just to make sure that that a loose bolt not causing the prob.. it’s just that the housing looks quite simple to change I keep suspecting a catch!

    Thanks again

    Re: Diamond H Wiring Reference

    Just been back to this one and it looks like there are 2 types of simmerstat that are simmiliar but switching live and neutral .the one that is listed in the “stickey” which appears to be a Dimond H 33ER3HT and the one that I have just come accross a Dimond H 43ER105B1 supplied under Connect No ELE4110

    Although the wiring convertion supplied by connect is correct the additional diagram for the link wire is not.

    Correct connections are as follows

    Pilot = S2
    Line = P1
    Load A = 2
    Neutral = 4
    Load B = P2
    Link wire for Pilot wire fits between P1-S1 NOT P1-4 as additional wiring diagram suggests. :rolls:

    Not sure if this has been a previous post or not and if you want to include this in your “stickey” Dave – up to you.

    Hope this of help to others out there… 🙂

    Re: Motor Brushes – Zan FLE1216

    Hi Folks

    Went back and fitted gen brushes 50265481007 (which are the same as 50226588007 but come as a pair and are cheaper) and they fit (the lead to the far brush is a bit tight but ok). although the body is slightly smaller.. looks like the original fit a slightly longer brush to compansate for ware on a high speed motor (could tell as only the tag had broken on brushes and little ware had taken place).

    Will get patten brush to keep on van for future calls though till get gen partno for original brush..

    Thanks for the help guys,, grateful as ever 😀

    Thanks Bryan

    That looks like the right one… strange only looks like they do a patten part and can only get that partno up on their web site not on the connect prog disk.. prefer to fit gen if I can but when needs must… as they say.. 😀
