ParticipantRe: W/Pool AWG5122/S Poor spin
Thanks for the reply scientist – Yes draining fine checked all that – drains out at least half a min before going into spin.
Its the time issue that seems the problem to me seems quite short for a spin program. Didnt find any buttons that might have been pressed either to shorten spin cycle and there is only one spin cycle on the selector.
The only other thing that might be the cause is the spin selector knob is quite stiff to turn and wondered if that might have been the reason why it didn’t seem to spin fast enough. If it had been bashed and something was damaged might have been problem but looking at the pcb it is engaged properly and turning the speed control resitor ok so put that down to lack of cleaning skills by tenant.
Must admit to not been a eco ball fan and have been know to take them out and leave with the customer saying – “if you notice a problem or the machine dosn’t apear to be working properly just give me a ring and I’ll pop it back in” – no one has rung me back so far altho I only take them out if I feel I have to.
But don’t lets start a debate on eco balls that has got to be another thread 🙂
Any other comments gratefully recieved.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply Martin
Yes I agree it is difficult to tell the difference between 1000/1200 spin spin without a rev counter but sometimes you know how it is and you get a gut feeling that it wasn’t spinning fast enough – well this was one of them. Plus 2 min 30 sec total spin time seems rather short to me – I would have expected at least 4min minimum even 6 min. (4min 800/1000 + 2 min 1200 or something like that)
Could be that it is just a crappy spin m/c but just wondered if anyone else has had complaints about the spin or it could be just something simple causeing the problem – like it only does a gentle spin on the spin setting?
Thnks

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WF541G – water valve or dispenser part no.
Thanks for the reply
Managed to find Dispenser and valve no C00143588 which has come through as 1605491 from Masterpart.
But will keep the valve no for future reference as I am sure would work out a lot cheaper.
Many thanks

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint AQXXF 149PI – no start
Ops – looks like i have pressed the button twice – my age is the excuse 😆
Just out of interest looking as the instructions it says the door lock light comes on when the door is shut so if the door lock light isn’t coming on this could indicate a faulty door lock?
Is there any way of fitting a new door lock without going thru the pain of a wiring mod to check the lock? Are the tags on the new lock the same as the old one – altho different connecter block on the new lock would indicate not?
Thanks

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint VTD00 Tumble Drier – belt keeps breaking
Thanks for the replys folks.
Aready fitted drum shaft/rear bearings, front bearings, front and rear seal when fitted the belt as these come with the kit. Must admit I feel that it is something to do with the front seal/bearings or something getting trapped.
Think in future i might not change the front seal unless really required as the new one seems slightly thinner than the original and might just allow stuff to get trapped. Just changed them cuz they are in the kit and would assume they are better than the orig. (but there again shouldn’t assume anything better where Hotpoint/Indesit are concerned these days ❗ just cheap n nasty)
It is interesting your comments on the front panel screws gand1 – would have thought i might have noticed them loose as you have to take kick trim off to access side panel screw but must admit to not checking them so will do on return visit.
Think will try new wider belt tho see if that makes difference.
If only manifacures would go back to jockey pulleys I am convinced it would save all these problems – but there again the m/c would last a lot longer as well ❗
Any other comments appreciated.

Dont think this is motor brushes – checked that and induction motor fitted 🙂
Looks like possible module/display fault and send them off to EMW then.
Don’t suppose anyone can answer the question about the pulsing start light – does it stop pulsing before the door locks or after?
Thanks

Thanks for the reply Dave – no lid off so didn’t see the wires but couldn;t see anything from outside and with all the tech rubish they do these days just wondered if the interaction between control module and display module was wireless !!
Should the pulsing start button change to continuius light when pressed to start – door lock fault or not – or if still pulsing and not activating anythng is this denoting module/distplay module?
Thanks

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WM52P brushes
Had one of these a few years ago – changed armature etc. – turned out to be intermitant pump problem.
Hotpoint allowed their machines to spin part/full of water for years !!! :rolls:

ParticipantRe: Bosch WF02466GB – Heating problem
Hi folks
Thanks for the replies folks
Yes heater is firing up Martin – when I tested on first call put a “clip on” ampmeter on wiring as i wasnt sure if it was hot water heat or the heater was duff.
Just wondered what the probability of heater breaking down was – my experiance is heater works or doesn’t not had any experiance of a heater breaking down but there could always be a first time 🙂 – Just wondered if anyone else had this?
Would have thought if it was a NTC prob m/c would either go through prog without heating or overheat?
Think best way forward if no one experianced this before is to get cust to put on 60deg wash b4 i get there and I think I can access heater from under m/c and check continuity when it stops heating.
Thanks

Hi Folks
Got the thermostats but no fitting instructions.
Can any one tell me where they fit please – got to go back to fit tomorrow.
Or it looks like it might be an calculated guess 🙂
Thanks

ParticipantRe: Leisure Roma 100 Range cooker – Thermal links in wiring?
Thanks for the replies guys
Have ordered two thermostats up as the cable kit is a special order but Connect had got the stats in stock.
Where do you fit the stat to – anywhere perticular? on the frame or oven unit? as the original was just floating in the wiring harness.
Thanks
Mick
