Well back to square one, me thinks i’m going to cut my losses and advise to replace this heap of junk 👿 . I think she is thinking that way anyway.

I called to a house once to look at a washing machine. They said they had a hotpoint condensor dryer that they didn’t want as they got new stuff in the house so i took it. They said it was working but the clothes were getting a little hot. When i opened it the one shot stat had wire bridged over the terminals! Some electrician guy did a repair on it 2 years previously.

We have a tricity bendix condesor dryer at home ( same as the zanussi) it goes everyday for the last 5 years, great machine.

It gives you an idea and if the motor is good and strong, any machine i have come across with a bad capacitor you will stop the drum with your hand especially on start up, but i also tested it with a capacitance meter anyway. 😉

Yeah went ok as expected. I’m not sure if she really is my type but it’s a start. Might meet her for an hour today, if i’m in the mood.

Funny thing though it’s a small world, i never met this woman before or even seen her and last night we both realised something. She was a friend of my sisters a few years ago and they both fell out! So it might cause problems if started dating her longterm anyway. 😆

Anyway so far so good, haven’t heard anything since.

Yeah, like the time i advised a woman not to buy a hotpoint and i got “You’re going to kill me, i bought a hotpoint. I got it cheap.”

It can make them a little sensitive afterwards though. I tried to reset one to see and it clicked back out nearly straight away.

No, Can’t see that being the problem because the cycling stat at the heater should keep that area at the right temps even if the one on top was stuck.

Well i fitted a new timer this morning and new stats so fingers crossed, i’ll update if any probs 😕

Interesting, Nationalhomecare and penguin45, when you say “hit it off” you started chatting and maybe drink some tea and then when you walked out the door you asked her to meet for a drink?

Well i spent an hour at it this morning. The dam thing went in both directions everytime. One thing i noticed with the timer is that sometimes when it clicks to go back into the normal direction it clicks louder than other times with a visible flash inside the timer.

Capacitor ok, i put force on the drum until the belt started making a noise so lots of power..

Also when the dryer was heating before clicking out the stat it dryed the clothes well and lots of water in the tank so no blockage.

Wonder is it worth the chance of getting a timer?
