I have came across this issue twice. I threw water into the drum and set it to spin. After a few minutes the machine went into a spin. I let it finish and they both worked afterwards. I could have been lucky though.

I was meant to update this. Sorted. I replaced the cooling fan and it worked ok.

I came across one 6 months ago. I reflowed the relay solder joints. 6 months on still works ok.

I came across 2 machines that wouldn’t start a wash after they were both blocked and cleared. I threw some water into the drum and set it to a spin. It will eventually go into a spin. Let it finish. In both my cases it reset the machine and worked ok. Maybe i was lucky.

My suggestions would be to check

    • That the belt hasn’t snapped or come off of the tensioner (there is a switch that detects the tensioner being loose).
    • Check the thermal fuse on the exhaust duct (two blue wires) as this is inline with the motor on these.
    • Do you hear any buzz from the motor when you press the start switch? if so then you may have a bad motor or centrifugal switch.

There is usually a wiring diagram on the inside of the lower cover but if you need any service info then let me have an email and I can send it to you.

It turned out to be the thermal fuse on the exhaust duct. Thank you for the info and all that replied . It’s the first time i came across one of these dryers.

Thanks Jem. The pulleys and belt all intact and lever switch not activated. No it’s totally silent no humming etc. i’ll check that thermal fuse over the weekend.

No. It doesn’t attempt to turn. All belts ok and turns freely by hand.

Thanks Dave for the reply. The drum doesn’t actually turn. You hear some fans starting up and about 10 seconds later the error comes up.
