Re: Hotpoint WMA61P drum paddle which one do i need?

Had a call to replace drum paddles on a WMA the other day. I ask her for the model and serial so i’d know which paddles to bring. She lives 15 miles away. So i get there and the paddles don’t fit and i had the correct numbers etc so i couldn’t understand why they didnt fit ❓

I then found out the drum was replaced under warranty so the hotpoint engineer fitted the newer type drum that uses version 2 lifters 😕

Always a good idea to ask if the machine has had a drum job before you go to the house.

It seems the newer ones have a removable bottom cover now. I have come across 2 of the newer machines where the seal where the motor fits into the housing fail. The machines were nearly new too.

spanner51 wrote:If its the tub bearing that needs replacing ( the rubber mount one on the underside of the outer tub) the tub will have to be removed.

The inner drum will have to come out first.

Remove the adgitater to expose the mount stem and nut.

To remove the mount stem and tub nut (l/h thread) you will find almost impossible if you dont have the special spanner.

Once both tub and drum are out it should be fairly obvious

Dont forget to fit a mount stem kit as well

Yeah it’s the tub bearing that’s fecked. Thank you for that info.

    Re: Zanussi dishwasher problem

I’ts not seized. I’m not getting any reading between the white and the other 2 wires, however i get a reading of 118 ohms between the orange and blue.

EDIT: Just checked a motor that i know works but has a broken shaft, the 118 is normal between the 2 wires and it reads ok with the white wire so my motor is definately fecked.

    Chris.

I’d say the selector. In every machine i have gone to with this problem it always turned out to be the selector.

Possible door lock problem, motor brushes or dampness on the motor.

I remember a similiar fault on it’s Siemens sister washing machine. The motor was faulty even though it washed ok etc. If the brushes are ok it’s the motor.

Penguin45 wrote:If the pump is whirring away, there must be some kind of blockage. You can drain the machine using the emergency tube and filter, so the obstruction must be after the pump. Outlet tube as Gordy says; if the machine is coupled to a sink spigot you certainly need to check that and of course there is the good old crushed/nipped/trapped drain hose to check for.

    Penguin45.

I always find the outlet on the pump where the outlet hose connects gets blocked up as it’s a bit narrow. If i collected all the coins i have found lying sideways in the inlets and outlets of the pump housing i should be a millionaire by now. 😆

doesnt that have a vairable, capiliary stat?

    im sure is does

no ntc on that me thinks

It’s a while back now and has worked ever since, to be honest i thought it just had knob for the spin speed but could be wrong. I think it was a quattro as i remember blue writing alright.

You mean you actually sat there through the complete cycle with it filling with HOT on rinses and the pump never cut out? 😕

No I mean I watched it emptying at the final spin and it pumped all the water out and still skipped the final fast spin. All the water emptied no problem. No the hoses weren’t kinked I even saw it doing it when pulled out.

Might be some sort of blockage like a childs sock in the pipes or a coin lying flat at the inlet of the pump.

Do you guys replace the bronze bearing at the back when you change the machines with the stretch belts? Most i call to have wear on them and when they wear through a groove starts to wear into the shaft and it snaps 8)

    Re: Zannusi start button

I would check all plugs, also check motor brushes and check the motor for condensation. Fault could be just a coincidence. Door locks can give problems. Make sure you didn’t dislodge plug on interlock when you had your hands in there.

Re: Zanussi FLE1035 Door Locking In

The only time i’ve seen this happen to one of these was either the brushes were worn or there was condensation on the motor because of dampness in either the house or the shed.
