ParticipantI went to 2 of these today with the exact same fault no power and both 18 months old. Digging on the net it’s usually a diode on the board ( D7). Low and behold on both of them the diode has shorted. Getting some tomorrow to try it.

The attached picture should help.
Is it position no. 1022 and part number on the photo?
Don
Hi Don, no it’s not the part , It’s like the clear plastic button assembly that goes on the beko washing machines of old.

Thanks Dave for the reply, forgot to say it may be part of the front panel, so possibly the panel not available anymore?

Pay’s rubbish. Dealing with customers is horrid at times. Dealing with commercial clients is sometimes little better. Etc.
But the first one is probably the biggest issue, there’s no money in it these days. If you ask about you’ll find most scraping a living, maybe making a half decent wage but that’s about it.
Many from conversations I’ve had are just eeking it out till they can retire.
Talked about at almost every conference in the past five years or more and, all the while the numbers of repairers have dwindled ever downward as people leave or retire.
Which means that, especially if there’s nobody else in the area or you’ve got skills nobody else has like gas or refrigeration, you can pretty much charge what you want these days. That’s the good news.

Sometimes the customers think we are making a fortune. I remember about 2 years back calling out fixing a washing machine for a foreign guy, spent about 40 mins there and charged him 45 euro. He was pleasant and nice and paid up but had to make a point ” wow you must be making a fortune getting at least 45 going to all these houses :rolls: “

Thanks Martin, Ouch! Also the machine started tripping at around the same time. Seemed to be water evidence where the sump joins the base, wonder if leakage on the motor had caused it.

ParticipantRe: how do you deal with non payers?
I actually can’t believe i got stung by the same woman and her son TWICE!. It was only when i was in her house the second time it dawned on me about the first time and when i heard the ” I’ll drop it in to your house tomorrow” line. That was last November!
Her son then hounds me on the phone about his washing machine, i go to the house and i only realise he stung me before. So as i’m fixing the machine i had to listen to him moaning about how much things he has to pay out for and the expense of things in general even though him and his wife have jobs and a shiney new 50″ tv in the sitting room 😡 I get the line he’ll pay in a few days!
What bothered me was he says to me that his mother said ” He’s a lovely fella and you don’t have to pay him straight away” :eeek: If she goes around telling everyone that not a good thing :snig: …needless to say i won’t get caught the third time.
Generally i just don’t bother calling to them again after they have the cheek to call me again when something goes wrong.

ParticipantRe: Miele Novotronic Premier 520 absolutely stumped
Thank you for the tip on the breather, it was indeed blocked near the top going into the y piece. Don’t get to work on many Miele around these parts

ParticipantRe: Nightmare Beko Dishwasher
Well i can safely say the high pressure is the problem. I took off the hose and lowered it in a bucket to see what kind of flow it had. Well all hell broke loose, the hose jumped out of the bucket i got soaked and there was water drops on the wall 15 foot away and into the next room. it was like a power washer!. Case closed LOL

So in otherwords the flow pressure is reduced when filling but when idle the ultimate pressure still builds up at the valve when not in use?Micky 32
ParticipantRe: Nightmare Beko Dishwasher
I did think of that pressure too high but adjusting the tap I could reduce it etc. Still does it,
