ParticipantI went to a fairly new WF Hotpoint washing machine with a serious leak. The element had popped out. The reason being the rubber on the element was very small like on a pattern part. No one had been at the machine before so in the factory a low quality element was fitted.

ParticipantI’ve pulled dead mice from inside cookers. They got fried when chewing on the wires.

ParticipantRe: Quick zanussi ZDT 6894 dishwasher question
Thanks for the reply Martyn. Didn’t get to pull it out to look at it yet. What happens is you switch it on and you can here the motor doing the stop start thing and then the code comes up. Motor sounds ok but as you said might not be going it’s full speed.

ParticipantRe: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?
I have landed myself a recent and annoying customer. She’s a non national and not from the EU but a little further south 8) . I have a feeling Nigerian.
I go to the house and repair the washing machine. She lives not too far from me so when i charge her it’s very reasonable. So i give her the bill. She then says that i can do a lot cheaper blah blah blah… So i agree to knock something off and we agree on a price. She goes for the money and comes back ” I have only this much money on me”. So basically after her haggling me and giving in i take a further cut in money. :rolls: .
I have done 2 jobs for her and she has done this twice.. very sneaky..
What annoys me is she phone late saturday evening and all day Sunday expecting me to drop everything and call to her. Luckily i knew her number and just let it ring..

On further investigation it seems like some sort of bad connection. No dry joints though. When you tap the pcb with something it goes into standby everytime. My conclusion is a bad connection inside the selector unit part.

Like you say Kwatt I can hear the fake office noise in the background. I thought it was just me they were targeting!
Also ask them about there company and they always hang up.Yeah i get this one alright, what’s that about?? This bird phones me and says the books are ready to be sent out to the schools. I say what books? And they tell me they phoned 2 months ago and i agreed to them. I tell them i didn’t recall such a thing. One time they just slammed the phone down and another claimed she had the phone conversation recorded of me agreeing to it and asked would she phone back with the recording. I said yeah and she never called back.
Is this a scam, do they really print these books?

ParticipantRe: Whirpool ADP 4400 dishwasher
Called today to the dishwasher. As Pengiun said there is no OWI on this machine. The diaphram switch was clogged with gunge. I took apart and cleaned and all is well again. It gives 11 flashes.

ParticipantMaybe earth leakage when element expands when hot or resistance change. |I would try another element first.

ParticipantGot called to a creda cooker C362E W. Top oven glass shattered(for whatever reason i don’t know or care). Replaced the glass and a day later she phones me being a bit snooty. Her daughter claims i fitted the wrong glass. She reckons i fitted the glass from a cheaper model that she had seen in the shop at the time she bought the cooker WTF!! because there is more of a gap between the top of the glass and the control panel! After phoning the supplier in her presence and verifying only one part number and sweet talking i managed to convince her otherwise.
Sometimes things like this make you want to quit :rolls:

ParticipantI’m actually embarrassed and ashamed to admit this but here goes. I think i may have found the problem. When i originally went to the house the customer told me she always cleans and checks the filter and condensor. I pulled the condensor at the time and it was spotless so i had no reason to doubt her claims.
I went back to the dryer again today for one last look. When the dryer was running i pulled out the condensor and the change in air flow was a lot. I then pulled the filter and it was practically wedged with about 2 inches of fluff! I’m kicking myself for not checking this myself. “oh that’s strange, i always keep that clean”
Anyway, now no change of airflow if the condensor is pulled in or out since i cleaned the filter. I put in new stats so fingers crossed.
So obviously the stats weren’t getting enough air flow hence getting a little too hot.

ParticipantWhat rent would you have to charge on a machine?

ParticipantSometimes i have to because i get the ” We are both working and not home until 6″.

ParticipantI have seen a few of these if the filter is blocked will go into a spin and throw the water out the soap box.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint condensor dryer problem
I don’t know i think these machines are pure crap compared to the older hotpoint/creda condensor dryers. It’s going to cost me money this machine if i carry on trying to fix it. I’m going to have to give her money back for the timer. I called to another one yesterday where the customer said smoke came out of it everywhere. I went to it and water had built up around the fan and got into the motor. It’s the second time i have called to it with built up water in the space of a year. The first time the water built up because the condensor was blocked, this time however the condensor was not blocked. I said ” Get a new one luv, it’s fecked!”, and so she did 😀
