    Re: Need help!

Check the plastic paddles inside the drum are intact and correctly seated…also check for any damage to the holes in the drum …mind your fingers, it will be very sharp!

If its only on the spin that you have no drum rotation, then its more than likely your carbons brushes in the motor need replacing

If you have to tip a machine back, then before you do simply remove the hose from the pressure switch,no need to ever do a reset then….never fails for me…but before this i was in the same boat (the Titanic!)

    Re: Hpt t/d – AQCF532BI – Belt fitting

You have had a bad day!

Been a while since i fitted a belt to a condensor type myself, but frommemory its not that much more complicated than a vented type, you should be able to get away with removing the front panel, and sliding the belt over the drum, then with the side panel removed you should be able to put thebelt on as i described earlier….if i am incorrect, im sure someone helpful will correct me!

    I wont take offence LOL

Then you should be able to put the belt on the pulley, fit and loosely tighten the furthest screw and then swivel down pulley to tension the belt and also line up the remaining screw hole, or holes

Is this a condenser type, where you can remove the fan cowling and then unscrew the pulley, hook the belt over the new pulley and then screw back in place …..?

Depends where the noise is coming from?

Could be worn shock absorbers, allowing the tub to hit the sides briefly
Worn tub bearings (put your fingers on the inner drum at the 12 o clock position and lift up slightly if the drum has play in it, then bearings could be suspect..will be making a loud rumbling or squealing sound at high spin speeds

    Could also be the pump?..
Can you narrow down the position of e clanking sound?

Also look at the rear of the casing for any signs that the pulley bolt has hit it,if it has then the shockers need replacing…easy job that can be done from the front of machine..pattern ones available from maddocks now @£15..
    And pretty good too!

Shockers goin are usually what stalls the
Motor and blows the components on the board…i am gettin loads of these in for the same fault, now they are of a certain age…

This fault can either be worn brushes,or a relay and fuse need replacing on the board…i can repair the biard for you at trade price…

Access is from the front which opens from left to right like a door.

Take out the screws from around soap drawer housing

Remove bolts from around door seal

Open filter flap and unclip the small drain hose

Then at bottom left underneat the front is a small spung metal clip, just pull the front of machine away at this point, and complete front will swing out…

Brushes are removed by taking plugs off (there may be a cable tie holding them)
Then remive 2 screws securing the plastic shield.

Then you remove all screws from the plastic plate you now see, which contains the brushes… Easy to remove but can be a bit fiddly to replace the plate back… One of the screws may have a brass collar which connects with a resistor on the other side of plate…be carefull not to lose it…

Any problems with the board, let me know

Miele machines can be programmed to do a “high level rinse” and the water level comes up halfway up the door, very similar to the old hotpoint 95 series… ..

Which I began my career servicing!

Have had a few customers who have asked me to restore their 95’s and swear they will never part with it..

Got a 9513 in mint condition if any one wants it.!!

It is possible to use the old clips if you can get them off without damaging them,,also make sure the front of the element is correctly seated in th metal clips towards the rear of the drum.

As for testing for leaks i would not advise to do any live testing…just pour a few litres of water in to the drum with the power disconnected…

Its just held in by the gold coloured circular clips, been a while since ive had to change one..just make sure you test for leaks before younswitch back on, as they never seem to be a nice tight fit..
