If its still under warranty, have a word with Dyson… They should send you a replacement main body…

It could also be the carbon brushes in the motor.. These are attached to either side of the motor, which is, if my memory serves me right, accessible from underneath the machine …

PS. Never work on machine with power on!

Does the water heat up to temperature.?

If not, it’s probably the heater element

    Lol It’s a wm63X

There is only the one screw going through the catch..have taken that out, but that’s the only screw..and apart from the four plastic catches ( two above the glass bowl and two below… )

I can’t see any other way it can come apart…

Wish I’d take a photo now!

Could also be bunged up inside with soap residue, and not allowing the spring it’s full travel

    Hope this helps

Probably is the actual door catch itself that’s worn, even if it doesn’t look like it is…

Had a similar fault a few days ago..

If you have good suction from the wand, but not from the base of the cleaner.. You could try checking the small clear plastic hose that runs from the side of the brushroll… Usually you will find these have a tear in them, which seriously affects suction…

    Hope this helps

Sounds like the commutator of the motor ” the copper segments that the brushes make contact with ” may be at fault
