We should all make a point to ensure that the correct plug has been extracted, even though it can sometimes be difficult. Another useful tip is this. If you touch a live point with the fingers, the arm muscles contract in such a way that you end up grasping the terminal, and are unable to let go. Far better to use your knuckle, so your arm tends to pull away. This test is of course the final test after the normal tests have been completed. At the risk of appearing ignorant, what is a voltage stick? It is awful to think that all that keeps us safe at work and on the roads is our own vigilance. Please take care lads, and lasses.

Good news chaps! I have just heard from a usually reliable source, that motorcycles, scooters and mopeds used for business purposes, are to be exempt, subject of course to certain specific conditions. namely the vehicle , under the proposed new Construction and Use regulations shall be fitted with an ashtray. Specific permission to smoke each and every cigarette needs to be applied for, by sending form FAG3215864 to the chief constable of the district in which it is to be smoked, specifying the brand, length, diameter, and the proposed number of drags. the form must be received not less than 3 months before the proposed smoke, and needs to be accompanied by the standard fee of£130 plus VAT. The vehicle needs to be preceeded by a man on foot wearing a yellow reflective jacket, ringing a bell, and shouting “Unclean” in at least 12european languages. Please note that this exemption does NOT apply to pedal cycles. Even if permission is granted, it may be revoked before or during the said smoke , by any constable in uniform, minister

Bloody lunatics in charge of the asylum again. I had twenty five years driving trucks throughout europe , including Scotland, a country I love. Away from wife and family for days or weeks at a time, fewer places to eat every year, I am glad to be out of it. Now they begrudge you a bloody fag. It is harming nobody except the smoker himself, and that is his/her choice. If everybody quit smoking tomorrow, the economy would collapse. Politicians would be running around like headless chickens, knocking on doors with free fags demanding that people smoke . What is the mentality of these people? I had to check the callender to see if it was the first of April. If they tried a stroke like that in France, there would be a national lorry drivers strike[as there is most weeks]. A word of advice for people who HAVE to drive vans in Scotland-Invest in tinted windows. To put peoples minds at rest, there is no truth in the rumuor that commercial vehicle drivers are to be rationed as to the number of times they breath per mile to linit carbon dioxide emmissions. Yet.

Sorry but I am still to be convinced. Incidentally ,I remember reading somewhere that in these kind of applications , the magnets have to fitted on either side of the water flow such that each magnet has its south pole facing inwards, that is , south poles opposing. This is not the natural or obvious way, as the result will be repulsion , necessitating, a bracket to hold the magnet. Further comments welcome.

Thanks for the replies so far . There are no visible dry joints on module . This machine has 2 pressure switches . The rear one seems to be the one used on wash . If I remove its pressure tube and fit a spare tube to the swich and blow it to the second level, the jetstream pump switches in .

In the first post on this thread , Kheath states in paragraph [c] that forth coming legislation will force business to attainawards/certification in order to continue to trade . Is this definately on the cards? If so , what is the likely timescale , and what will it involve? One could envisage some kind of test or exam. Who will administer this? I dont need to ask who will pay.If additional training is necessary , perhaps Whitegoods could be involved . Or perhaps some government agency will teach us how to work without the service info that the manufacturers are so coy about .

seem to remember having this problem . view machine from rear , there is a passage cast into the plastic base of the machine . it is in the far wall of the float chamber , left hand end near bottom .remove float switch assembly and rod the passage with a piece of wire . remove condenser , reach into the hole and slightly to the right , grasp wire and pull it all the way through . Hope this helps.

am sure we all share the concerns expressed regarding missing panels , and the resultant dangers , especially fire . But what about hoover and Candy machines with the chipboard lid . It swells when damp , making it difficult to remove and replace , and would probably act as kindling in a fire . Any comments?
