Re: White Knight 767c front fan

I have successfully removed fan. I found it unneccessary to totally remove the rear panel. I removed the heater assembly, and the screws from the lower half of the panel. I did not remove the rear drum bearing securing screws. There is enough flex in the rear panel to allow pulling the lower edge away and working through the gap. The rear fan was rusted on. I removed the securing bolt and soaked the shaft in WD40. then inserted 3 wood blocks behind the fan. I then inserted a masonry nail into the bolt hole and hit it with a small hammer. As the fan moved, I progressively increased the thickness of the wooden packing. Had it off in 5 minutes without breakage. Hope this helps someone.

The job has been a bit quiet here in Lincs for a couple of weeks. I always find it a bit quiet when the kids are off school for the summer. My theory is that the mothers let the kids play in the same clothes for six weeks. I say enjoy it while you can, it will soon be back to busy busy busy…

    Re: Beko WMA665W not washing

By a strange coincedence, I had a similar fault today, Went to a Beko, no model number to hand. the fault was that on wash, the drum would tun several times at spin speed, and then abort so to speak. On stripping The tacho, the magnet fell off in 2 pieces. the magnet appears to be moulded around a brass knurled collar which is then pressed onto the shaft. Anyone know if the magnet/collar is available as a seperate part?

Thanks again for replies. The one I went to today had the same problem.
I replaced the plug with seperate connectors, and also resoldered several tags, and we had lift-off!

    Re: will i wont i???

I never cease to be amazed at how different people have different experiences. I have worked for myself since 1979, with about 15 years in white goods. Most of the time I am as happy as the day is long. I probably work abot 35 to 40 hors a week. My overheads are very low as I work from home. I paid for my house donkeys years ago when I was lorry driving. I rarely do more than 5 calls a day. I do the odd evening or weekend job if it suits me. I make a fair living. Get the odd rare non payer. Get the odd moaning customer [like the one today who complaind because I charge her £35 to extract coins from her pump. She said I was only in the house 10 minutes and was therefore on about £150/hour]
I would not dream of working for someone else, even if anybody would enploy me. Life`s real tradgedy is that when you are 18 you want everything and can afford nothing. When you can finally afford things, you no longer want them.

My method . Remove the pcb by unscrewing screws from the pointed end with pliers. screws can usually be recovered with fingers or pointed plers. refit pcb with screws reversed.

    Re: Fault Code Guide

I bought my fault guide as soon as it was published, and found it very useful Are there any plans for a new version? Today, I went to a Matsui MWM 145W, and the customer had the user manual. Inside were the fault codes. If anyone is interested, I will borrow it and post the codes.
