Re: Fisher and Paykel GW603U Has Error

Right, now you’re talking….. These are comms errors between the motor board and the display board. Beyond checking for continuity/correct location of connectors, it all gets a bit technical – either board could be causing the problem. I’d start by asking them to exchange the new board – if you’ve still got problems it’ll have to be the display board.

    Time for pro help perhaps?

    Gentlemen……..

The star of this particular little show, and playing in an appliance near you……..

    The magnetic drain pump motor.

A boon to repairers since 1992 and still no improvement. It can’t really get much better, can it?

Ideally, you’re going to have to pull the chamber and clean it out properly – it’s the only way. Fabric conditioner is basically smelly grease – pre-diluting can help it to dissolve better, personally we don’t use it.

Re: Fisher and Paykel GW603U Has Error

Error code should read 8 digits – can’t recognise either of the ones you’ve posted. However, the new board needs to be accurately located on the plungers in order to activate size switches. Additionally: Hold down “Start/Pause”, then push “Power”. Count to 10, power off. This should reset the size in the EEPROM in the computer.

If no joy, run diagnostics and post the 8 lamps, right to left.

Re: smart drive 7.5 stops and starts

They’ve been to England once and it was all a bit of a balls up on the service front – shame really as the refrigeration and cooking products are first class. They haven’t set the washers loose in the UK, as most of us only have room for front loaders (they go under work surfaces, you see).

Anyway, let us know how it pans out.

    Re: Fisher & Paykel Smart Drive 708 – 00000100101

Got it – water level drop not detected in the time allowed (3 mins). So, some sort of blockage, obstruction, drain hose sqaushed are the most likely options. If it does actually empty, there may be a problem with the water level switch or its hose.

Be careful of the pump, there is a permanent live feed to it, so long as the machine is plugged in. Drain pump is a twist fit BTW (once you,ve got rid of the water……).

Can you double check that, Nick? It’s not a valid code.

Re: smart drive 7.5 stops and starts

    Ok, that one works…….

Hot and cold valve fault. This can be a fault with the wiring harness between the motor board and the valves, it can be a fault with the inlet valves themselves (64ohm when metered out of circuit). If these check out ok, it’s probably the motor controller. At that point, it may be best to get some pro help to avoid any expensive mistakes.
