Technically, it’s a configuration error. If the board worked on somebody elses machine, it’s a fluke as they are configured on a model specific basis..

Worth checking the temperature probe for function. It’s a thermistor device, so the resistance will change with temperature. You will need a multimeter capable of working in kOhms.

He’s got power to the plates. They will only function properly with a loaded saucepan on top – even then, they will still cycle.

With patience, the top of the soap box can be removed, and the inner panel teased out for proper cleaning.

Put your model number into http://www.boschcustomerservice.com for exploded diagrams of how it all fits together.

I think you should check the condition of the tacho magnet on the end of the motor and the resistance through the coil which surrounds it.

If the drain pump runs continuously, regardless of what programme you selct, it’s almost certainly a pcb failure.

Due to the costs involved, I would seriously advise seeking professional help on this one.

Dispenser is fired by the the pcb, so either that’s faulty or there is a corruption issue feeding back through the pcb. Heater is good candidate, motor capacitor possible.

Re: Hotpoint WD420 dryer light flashing.

Dryer LED in the vertical row of lamps is LED1. If it’s flashing then it’s F08 – heater relay failure, which, as we all know by now is 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain a board fault.

Never had a problem with it – it’s all work and the customer is going to pay as far as I’m concerned.
